Keeps Water Going The Right Way!
Without a check valve, drain water can sometimes run backward in the line or hose (from where it came) and in so doing, create overflows and floods of dirty, bacterial-laden water into the floor. Condensate and sump pumps are often simple devices with sumps or holding tanks that are gravity-fed and are not sealed...basically a pool of water in an container with open entry points for inbound drains lines. Back flows are essentially refilling the container that was just pumped out. 'Inefficient and can cause the container to overflow on to the floor.Since water leaks and seepage NEVER get better and over time, before you know it there can be lots of damage. Leaks are typically silent and unless you inspect drain lines routinely, they can sneak up on you...then it's an oh sh-t moment. We installed this check valve on to the Little Giant Condensate Pump and back flows and overflows are a thing of the past. Don't be cheap and try to do without this simple valve. Peace of mind and your floor are worth way more than the small cost of this valve.Over time, this valve will require gentle cleaning but having a spare on-hand is simpler and more reliable than trying to clean it as it is small and has NO removable parts. A little vinegar added to the sump/container will help to keep the sump container and the valve clean and trouble free. Put yourself a monthly or quarterly reminder on your calendar to save yourself some headaches by adding some vinegar on a routine schedule. That's better than discovering a water problem as you head out the door on vacation!

Easy replacement
Many local stores sold the entire condensate pump but not the check valve . This was perfect and inexpensive. The original just broke apart. Don't know why but it is just plastic. It can sure make a mess.

Installed it a year ago, still working as expected
Had a leak in our whole-house humidifier that I found to be caused by a cracked check valve, so I bought this new one. The process of switching out the old for the new was a little bit of a pain, but not that bad in the grand scheme of things. Recommended, as it works as expected.Make sure you have thread tape, a bucket, and towels handy when you replace yours.

Repair Part for condensate pump
This check valve can also be used to repair a Beckett CU141UL condensate pump like the one connected to our Rheem high efficiency furnace. It has the same 1/4 inch MNPT fitting, though the orifice is slightly smaller than the original.Your condensate pump may last longer if you clean it out annually with a shop-vac. For more details, see[...]Note, I ordered the part with 2 day shipping - it took more than 5 days to arrive. FedEx/UPS/DHL have all jacked up their prices, so Amazon is using priority mail for "2 day" shipping. And while USPS promises 2 to 3 day delivery, all bets are off around Christmas, with the high volumes and winter road conditions.

Solved my problem and saved money
Our pump was not working and was shutting off our AC. I was going to buy a new one. I’m taking it all apart I wanted to see why it wouldn’t pump. Took this check valve out and it pumped like crazy. Tried to blow through valve and nothing. Took it apart and the ball had started to disintegrate. Still figured I had to buy a pump but found this. Inexpensive fix and back in business.
