essie Salon-Quality Nail Polish, Vegan, Gray, Chinchilly, 0.46 fl oz

Essie is one of nail polish brands that I tend to keep one or two bottle of as a quick go to. I was completely into gel then had the allergy come for me so I'm back to air dry and needing a lot variety to my collection. This brown is my first of the neutrals I am building back up. I always love a brown but feel like it makes my hands look ruddy. I still feel that it is a staple to have a faun like or oiled saddle sort of brown. It fits as an excellent base color for stamping too. Essie is always my preference for hassle free fast nail coverage. I'm not usually looking for long lasting quality color but faster reliable for that day color that I know will dry when it is supposed to without streaks or bubbles. This bottle was smooth and not clumpy or too runny. The thickness is also great for two fast coats or one sort of okay one if I am just tired and over the time needed for air dry product. To me on sale this is a reasonable and affordable brand but I generally learn to only buy when on sale. The price is worth it if you just need something to behave and be done with it. I have changed up my polish a few times already due to being hard on my hands but I took pictures in inside morning and outside light. The picture with the bottle is evening light and room light. It's a great color I think! Sech doesn't like it and does shrink so I use other top coats when available. Right now its the only one as my other bottle is low and that brand I've been using for glitters that shed.

I purchased this Essie polish in the shade “Boho Rodeo,” and it may be one of my favorite earthy reds ever. The color is the perfect rich reddish-brown. It is warm, sophisticated, and ideal for both fall and summer wear. The formula applies like a dream: smooth, creamy, and highly pigmented with excellent opacity in just one to two coats. What really sets Essie apart for me is the consistency and wear time. This polish goes on evenly, self-levels beautifully, and lasts noticeably longer without peeling off. It has a nice shine to it too! Definitely worth buying.

Fringes and saddles comes out pretty dark, close to black, but it looks like rich, thick, dark chocolate. The application is good, the drying time and smell average.

Color was a bit more purple in person but was still a great shade of brown & exactly what I needed for my outfit. I love Essie polishes because they are smooth & I don’t deal with a lot of chipping. I usually leave polish on for 4 days before switching & the tips of my nails didn’t chip at all! The polish was still new so it was not clumpy at all. Application is easy- it has a nice brush that’s on the wider side so you get good coverage. Easy to remove too! Smells just like any other nail polish lol. Only downside I have with it is that it does not dry very quickly & takes a while to cure- so be careful for up to an hour after painting your nails. Same issue I’ve had with Essie polishes across the board though. Once you figure out the proper timing, they are great :) I’d recommend 5 minutes between coats & waiting 15 minutes to apply top coat!

Essie is my go to brand of nail polish because if it’s many beautiful color choices. I like a few other brands, but the colors are limited. I saw this color, Always Morphing, on someone and loved it. The reason for only three stars is the formula. I just want to warn you. It is very thick. It was very hard to work with. I even tried putting the bottle in some warm water which helped for one hand, but by the time I got to the second hand, it had thickened up again. Even after warming it, you don’t need two coats. Definitely only use one coat! Because it’s so thick, you will get flaws and bubbles. What saved me was the Londontown Gel Shift topcoat that you use with a gel lamp. this topcoat is pretty awesome. It totally miraculously erases the flaws and makes the manicure look good. As you can see in the picture, I am no professional! It is my left hand, and I am right handed. Jan 24,2026: I now realize that the problem I had was the polish was cold. I take hot tapwater in a small cup and put the polish in to warm up. After a few minutes, it’s much easier to work with.

Classy, understated color that should suit formal wedding attire. Easy and smooth to apply and dried quickly without streaking.

I was pretty much having to redo or touch up my nails daily with this. It's a shame because it is just a true pitch black color and could be a one coat black but better with two coats. Just not worth it for how much it chipped and peeled compared to other polish. Usually love Essie brand so this is definitely a huge let down. Used "here to stay" base coat and "gel-setter" top coat along with it which I usually don't have many problems with.

Good product

The Essie Nail Polish is one of my favorite nail polishes. The formula is smooth and easy to apply, giving an even, streak-free finish with just two coats. I love the glossy shine—it looks like a salon manicure and stays beautiful for several days with a good top coat. The brush makes application simple, and the polish dries fairly quickly. The quality is excellent, and there are so many beautiful shades to choose from. It’s definitely worth the price if you’re looking for a reliable, long-lasting nail polish.
