Rhino USA Shackle Hitch Receiver

I get in trouble. A lot. After I get in trouble, I buy stuff for the next time I do whatever I just did (assuming I remember it). Hence, I have a lot of stuff. I could easily have cheaped out on this item. This is way overkill for my needs--a similar item less than half the cost would have done it, but Rhino makes such cool stuff that I like to reward myself with their products for no good reason--after all, whatever the reason I'm buyin' for, it was always my fault anyhow. This sucker is built. Beautifully built. Seriously. You could probably yank a dump truck out of a muddy ditch with it, so I'm sure it'll be more than adequate for my minivan (although you wouldn't believe what a grave you can dig for yourself with a minivan). I don't know how you could exaggerate how hefty and solid this shackle hitch is. If nothing else, every time I pick this thing up, the first thing that occurs to me is what a fine lethal weapon it would make. You could kill a polar bear with it, although small women and children might have a hard time swinging this mass--they better stick to bear cubs. Of course the fluorescent green and black colorings are just bitchin' too. Some people complain that it doesn't come with a hitch pin, but that seems expected to me. The only imaginable drawback I can see to this obviously fine piece of kit is that it's almost too pretty to get dirty--yeah, I know, that's what she said. P.S. Also makes killer work-out equipment. (Somebody should patent pivoted kettleballs fast. I'll buy some.) I was tossing it in my vehicle with the rest of the emergency equipment (my life is an ongoing emergency), but it felt so damn good in my hand that I went for a real long walk with it. Alternating a can of pop and this thing between hands while swinging it while doing ordinary and reverse curls got a really good burn going, especially at the shoulders--it felt great. (I do have a big advantage here--I lost my dignity along with my hair a long, long time ago, so my neighbor's eye-rolling hardly fazes me--by now they know me well enough, and I've done so many dumber and worse things.)

This shackle hitch receiver is HEAVY-DUTY. I almost bought one for half the price before I noticed it weighed about a third of this one from Rhino! Great finish, everything fits together perfectly. I don't expect to ever have to buy another one unless I lose it in my junk-filled garage.

The shackle hitch feels incredibly sturdy, and provides a great tow rope mounting point for recovering a vehicle. RhinoUSA customer service is also top notch. I lost the threaded pin for the shackle, and they sent me a new one for free.

solid, sturdy, fits 2 inch-a few strips of gorilla tape on it to stop a little space-rattle. You need this to get towed out from rear..never use ball hitch for that. DO lock it on with a cylinder lock..it looks great, people will steal it.

Great product at a great price.

High quality heavy duty. No issues with the product but the “gray” was not gray it is silver. I ended up painting it not a huge deal it’s just not even close to the color depicted in the add.

Love the hitch, very strong, makes life alot easier to run a strap to pull someone out of a ditch, or if someone is struck

You will notice the heft of the package as you first pick it up..... You won't be disappointed as you pull it out of the box..... the heft you felt is indeed the Shackle Hitch you've been looking for......I made my first one out of scraps..... it has always worked as hoped..... but..... this one from Rhino is specifically made to always work! And it does.... the hitch, which fits 2" receivers, is made of SOLID STEEL, is drilled for trailer hitch pins and allows you to choose the orientation that suits your needs by hanging the shackle horizontal OR vertical..... there are no welds to break or worry about breaking as you use it...... the shackle has a plastic sleeve which protects your tow strap from abrasion while in use...... this hitch/shackle is made well and looks good even when not in use..... and because it looks so good, you are going to want to tuck it back out of sight to keep someone from steeling it..... that's a price you pay when you buy something that works as good as it looks!

Well made, fits perfectly into a 2" receiver on a tow hitch without any rattle. The D ring has a plastic coating on it to protect from wear and tear. Machined well, so it's easy to remove the threaded pin to take the D-dring portion on and off. get a locking hitch pin and you can safely leave it in place full time. Have used it to help pull out a stuck cube truck with a snatch strap. Worked great.

It was useful until I lost the shackle... It's not like other Rhino shackles where the pin goes thru and is secured by a R-pin. This simple screw on kept loosing up and even you screw it back when you notice you will end up with an empty hitch...

What can I say? Another great product from Rhino USA. Very well built and fits into the hitch without a lot of play. Have used a couple of times and I can tell you it will take hard snaps like nothing.
