Since it is plastic, I think you should be able to do that. However, it is thick and less supple than thinner plastic if that's what you want. You might also want to talk to the seller about it.

The one we got was labeled something like crystal clear, not grey. The way we used it, it seem perfectly clear. Ours was used to cover upholstered chairs, not as windows. Still, when I held it up, the plastic was definitely see through.

Can this be used in patio windows with splice to hold it in place?

Yes. That is how we used it. Hubby doubled it up and used the spline to secure it in our patio screen door. Seems to work fine.

It’s flexible plastic like heavy plastic wrap. It is not rigid or stand on its own. You would have to make a frame and attach it to the frame to use it to cover an aquarium or used as a dividing wall.
