I raise medaka rice fish, and this stainless mesh strainer has been a big change up for my hobby.
Yes! The Mesh Strainer is exactly as I expected. The size fits my 5-gallon buckets, durable and sturdy for the jobs I complete with it. The stainless-steel material really holds up to the abuse I put it thru and cleans up easy peasy!! My hobby is raising Medaka, rice fish so I often do water changes and periodically wash and rinse out their tub containers. This means being able to sort small fish, separate debris like small rocks and plants and still be able to save a portion of the water that has the necessary bacteria and water condition necessary to keep my fish thriving. The material really holds up to the mud sludge I dread dealing with. The stainless mesh stays rust free outdoors even if I forget to rinse it out until later in the week. It holds the same appearance after cleaning. The many applications I use this strainer for my hobby makes it a versatile tool I that continues to surprise me. I have ruined nylon nets; wooden handles have rotted and even save time because of its size capacity. I feel like I leveled up from the small mesh strainers that is used in kitchen preparation. It keeps the peace at home. LOL!

Great for cleaning beeswax cappings
I used this in the oven for a filter to separate wax cappings from honey. I had used paper towels on a metal screen previously with disappointing results. The bowl shape kept debris from getting in the pan beneath. Once everything melted through I was able to scrape off the screen and load it with more cappings. It made a tedious job go much faster. I used a maple syrup filter purchased from Amazon for a final cleaning of the beeswax.
