BLACK DIAMOND Astro 300-R Headlamp, Rechargeable, Dimmable Bright, Graphite

I ordered this little flashlight for my parents because I love the black and blue ones we’ve had for years and use almost daily, especially in the winter months. We mostly use them for evening or nighttime walks or hikes after sunset. Wearing it on the head works great for tasks or working in the dark. However, for daily walks, I prefer to wear it like a necklace so it lights up the path directly in front of me and casts light down, making me more visible to others. It also allows me to turn my head side to side without blinding anyone, since the light stays directed on the ground. I wish more people who walk with headlights at night would adopt this simple technique! I also appreciate its dimmable function, durability, waterproof quality for rainy days, lightweight design, and the fact that it’s rechargeable. Even with frequent hour-long daily walks, I only need to charge it about once a week. The one shown in the photos is the light I have been using for about 5 years already, and it is still going strong! My only complaint is that it still uses a dated micro USB charger instead of a newer USB-C. I love this durable headlight—it makes me much more visible to people and cars, adding an extra layer of safety. Highly recommend!

Out of all of the presents I've given my husband over the years, this is is favorite! He says he reaches for it ALL the time! He just used it for doing something under the car the other day...during the day. He said the extra light was so helpful! It's great quality, comfortable, and adjusts to fit his big head perfectly. It stays put!

Awesome battery life and the light is very bright. I use this daily for walks with my dog and I highly recommend it. It replaced a 10 year old rechargeable black diamond headlamp that was still working but the battery just wouldn't cut it any more.

This thing is *not* rechargable. What you CAN do is BUY their proprietary rechargable battery and then BUY their proprietary charger (about $60 all in). It DOES NOT charge in any way in the unit; you'll be pulling the battery out of the unit putting it on the charger back and forth for the rest of your life. Utterly shocking that they're allowed to advertise it as "rechargable" on Amazon. Under NO DEFINITION of "rechargable" is this lamp rechargable. Waste of my time- don't waste yours.

The lamp went on a wilderness canoe trip in Northern Minnesota. Worked great in every way. SUPER value for the money. One caveat. The easy to use on/off was a little too easy to use. Jostling while in the pack turned it on more than once draining the battery. Putting it in a container solved the problem though. HIGHLY recommend.

I bet you will love this one! Top feature? No flashing or red lights! Yay! One push turns it on, long press dims. Press again & it turns off. When press to turn it on again it remembers last setting. Band is ez to adjust while wearing, weight is comfy & it stays put. I have several by this company and find they work well, last a long time and make me happy. However, always seeking "just a bit better" I try their new ones. This one is a winner. My husband thinks we should take the others (which serve as emergency lights throughout our home, office, storage, car) to Goodwill and replace them with this one. He really loves it.

Really easy to charge and battery lasts well, good brightness and adjustable settings, compact and takes up very little space in a bag.

It is OK my previous one is better as it had 3 different beam settings

A comfortable head torch with a good adjustable light distribution. I like the fact its re chargeable as well.

It does work but now the battery just drains even when not using, happens maybe on the sixth charge, the leds don’t go out anymore and the battery doesn’t last
