Perfect gift for my daughter who loves to help with cooking and food preparation. We have a set of plastic children’s knives that are difficult to use with things like carrots. This one works really well and is easy to hold and cut through vegetables etc.

The grandchild may now become a chef, he didn't want to be taken out for dinner on his birthday, he wanted to stay home and make picnic food for everyone.

Ideal gift for our young chef

This knife is excellent and actually chops things really well (we've tried apples, pears, grapes, cucumber, pepper etc and no problems). My son is 3.5 years old and can handle it without any problems. The design of the handle is fantastic too and let's him use quite a bit of force to chop harder things. He absolutely loves it and now insists on helping with every meal! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the finger protector is a bit hard for him to use and chop correctly with, though that may be because he's actually younger than the recommended age. It also encourages them to place their fingers in a position that's not really the best for cutting things properly, so we've ditched it and are just teaching him how to hold things correctly instead.

The knife is very blunt so it works well for us chopping banana etc and teaching knife skills

This knife and guard set are fantastic. The safety of the rounded tip is brilliant, the guard could be better if it was made from silicone or something with a little give in it but I won't knock a star off for that.

Great idea - but low quality steel that began to rust.
