Honestly I very much dislike this iron. It doesn't get hot enough to work well even on the hottest setting. The sole plate doesn't glide along the fabric very well at all. I got this one to replace an old Sunbeam one that also has a retractable cord but had a nonstick soleplate. The Sunbeam hot to about 400°f and worked like a dream. Unfortunately it eventually stopped working after being knocked off my ironing board enough times. This one barely gets to 130°f after being on for 10 mins. It's incredibly hard to get any wrinkles out at that temperature. I also use the iron for quilting and ideally the iron should get to about 400°F for quilting cotton. Needless to say I'm in the market for an iron that will actually work well.

Mine just broke down, so in a position to say EXACTLY how long it lasted. Used every other day.

Let me start by saying: I love my iron. I'm good to my iron. I'm a wrinkle nut! But, I iron for a whooping 10 mins at a time, twice a week, maybe. Not exactly over using. I purchased at Walmart and I have never left a review here at Amazon for a product I bought elsewhere but I'm so fit to be tied! I came here looking to see what others said and decided to review. A year of easy use is way to short!! The iron made me happy. It heated quickly and has a weight to it so you felt like you were "getting it done". One bad thing was the dial for temp is right below where your fingers ride while ironing and as one other reviewer said it moves that dial easily and quite often which was a pill and a bad design flaw. Just plugged this in one morning and nothing. Nothing! No warning. Fine one day nothing the next time I plugged it in. I've never had it not heat, but I'll be damned, I've tried everything I can think of over the course of several days. Nothing! It lights up so I know it's got "jazz" but, no heat..Keep your money.

Nice iron... I experienced the white residue and dial settings being moved as mentioned in previous reviews. My concern after owning for about 2 yrs is all the setting labels have been rubbed from the dial. I typically iron cotton, but need to iron some wool and do not know where to turn the dial.

So I recently purchased this iron a few days ago. Used the retractable cord 3 times and now it doesn't work. Typical of made in China item. It's actually a bit heavier too. Would I purchase it again. NO...

Terrible product, water leaked everywhere from it! It can cause damage in wooden closets if you don't notice the water leak in time.

Inexpensive iron but poor designmy hand keeps bumping the dial under the handle which regulates temp of iron and it turns very easily. So temp can be accidentally turned up or down which could result in burning an item if too hot or being too low in temp for cotton or linen and ineffective. The manuf should add more resistance to the dial to prevent accidentally turning it. It does retract the cord inside it, which is the reason I bought it.
