Q: Can this be used to make frozen cocktail using normal cocktail ingredients?

I'm not sure since i have not tried it but if the cocktail contains alcohol, it might have a freezing point below water depending on concentration and hence not freeze.

Q: Can you leave out the salt? It feels like an awfully high amount of salt for children

The salt goes in the internal compartment which just helps the ice and water mixture to get below freezing to make the slushy on the outside. The salt doesn’t go in the drink!
