I have a love of playing chess/checkers but wanted an updated stylish board that I could display on my bar cart without clashing with my decor. This is the perfect set for a modern or farmhouse style.

It's absolutely gorgeous I should of got the smaller 12in. Looks beautiful.

For the price ($117 for the 15 inches board) i was expecting better quality… The board itself is fine. I notice some rough angles but no asymmetry, and it’s lined with foam underneath. The kind of rubbery foamy lining that might stick/attach to a table with time, like a bathroom rug would attach to the floor , especially considering the heavy weight (about 10 lbs) of the board. I would personally protect any surface before installing the game in a permanent setting. On the other hand, SIX the metal black pons i received are CHIPPED AND DAMAGED (see photos and videos attached to this review) as if they had been dropped on pavement before being packaged for shipping! The body’s surface of those damaged pons is not smooth but grainy. 😣 The light colored pons are all in good condition though. Minor defects but nothing major. The protective storage casing coming with the game is quite frankly not matching expectations for a marble checkers set! It’s very poorly made and not likely to protect a heavy game-set as this one! The case for storing the pons is like an unfinished attic, obviously missing a covering liner… Glue strings are apparent and the bare spongelike/paper fabric material casing does not reach all corner of the box and the queens don’t fit in their spots… 🙄 i doubt that the ribbons nailed to the box are going to last long! They are already showing signs of stress after just filming the review… In addition, the storage case poorly closes with VELCRO… 😦 Foam stickers provided for both sets of pons. 👍🏼 I purchased that game-set because the reviews were at 4.6 stars, but it definitely not what the set i received deserved! 😓 i have seen cheaper marble chess sets on the site that come with better storing cases! Given the weight of the game, i’d rather not have to carry it back to store for a return. Like i said, the marble board is fine and i’ll be happy with just a replacement of the damaged black pieces. Let’s see what the vendor’s consumer service is going to say about that. I will update this review when/if i hear back from them. UPDATE: i haven’t heard back from the seller’s customer service concerning exchanging the damaged pawns, so i am returning the whole set… plenty other sellers on Amazon! It’s very heavy but i guess they dont mind paying shipping cost?

This is a beautiful set and even better than I expected! I can’t tell you how happy I am with this purchase. I absolutely love the craftsmanship and every perfect imperfection. I highly recommend this!

This is beautiful! I keep it out all year and for a family that never really played unless I begged, we now play at least 3x a week! Love it!

It was half good, in the picture you can see the top half of the board was excellent with the tiles all properly aligned. Then the bottom half all the tiles were somehow crooked. Will be returning for a replacement. Will update review if the next board comes out good. Edit: I received a replacement and the tiles were even more crooked than the first one! Stay away from this board until they sort out their QC.

The Marblous Krafts chess set was ordered for use in our home on a specially made table. From the time I opened the well-made container that housed the chess set, I was impressed with this product. Although the shipper put the overall set in a cardboard box with very little padding, the container housing the chess set is a specially crafted box for the entire set, and kept the set secure for being broken or scratched. In fact, it was so well made that it was difficult to remove the chess set from the container. The chess board is made of marble, and it is heavy. The entire set weighs a little over 15 pounds. This is not a set that one will be carrying around from house to house to use on a regular basis. The board is beautiful and it should be set on a table not only for use in play but also as a decorative piece. The chess pieces are crafted from metal and have felt bottoms in order to deter scratching the marble board. The King is about 3 1/2 inches tall and the shortest are the Pawns at 2 inches. The pieces are also on the heavy side. They are definitely not plastic pieces filled with some sort of filler. BOTTOM LINE: I definitely like this chess set, and it will make a beautiful addition as a decorative piece as well as being used to play chess in our home. It is well made with a marble board and metal chess pieces. If one is a casual player, this set is going to seem expensive. But if you are looking for a set with which to play the game in your home and also use as a decorative piece, then this is the set. I would order this product again. This would make a great gift for someone who plays chess and appreciates a well-made set.

This is a genuine marble chess set that looks and feels much better than I expected. The board is thick and the piece are big. Great color throughout the board and pieces. Every piece has foam under them to protect the board and the bottom part of the board has a huge foam pad. There are no wobbles on the board or pieces. Packed securely for shipping. Very impressed!!!
