Exactly what you expect from Lego. Good quality, good color, nice size. Price is average and probably better than most brick-and-mortar places.

Go for the Lego brand. The others are flimsy and don’t hold up well. We got this to go with our random Lego pieces. The kids get creative and love to make things on this. Pro tip: if you have more than one kid do NOT get two of the same color. Spend the extra dollar or two and get another color as well.

I bought this one to help my son organize his "forest" builds, and it makes such a difference. Before we had this, his trees and little grassy scenes were constantly tipping over on the carpet, but this provides a rock-solid foundation. The 32x32 size is the perfect "sweet spot"—it’s large enough to hold a decent-sized building or a whole park scene, but it still fits easily on a standard play table or shelf for display. The studs have that perfect LEGO "clutch power" where everything clicks into place securely but can still be pulled apart by a 4-year-old without a struggle. I also love using these for display. Once the kids are done playing, we can just move the entire "scene" onto a shelf without everything falling apart. It’s a simple piece, but it adds so much play value and keeps the bricks off the floor (which my feet definitely appreciate!). If you're gifting a box of loose bricks, definitely grab one of these to go with it—it’s a total game-changer for building.
