Does this brace bother the back of the knee in it’s design ?

This is not a good brace. I wouldn’t recommend it.

How would I know the size that's right for me?

I have two straps in small/medium size. My husband - 5’10” and me - 5’1” can wear the same size. We weigh 170 and 110 pounds respectively. I hope this helps in deciding size.
