Pull-Down Retractable Screen Door - 30" Black

Pros:The screen fits my door frame very well. I measured it a few times but was still nervous when I ordered. The screen goes right to the edge, so I don't have to worry about bugs getting in unless they are dead set on entry. I like having my door open in the evening and no longer worry about moths getting into my house.The screen rolls slowly on its own. I've had it slip out of my hand and easily caught it. It's nice to know that I can release it from the hooks and it will not go flying off.The product overall seems very well made. The parts felt sturdy and I feel like it will last. Only time will tell.The package arrived undamaged. Props to you and USPS for that.I gotta say, at the end of the day, it looks great. With the valance, it seems like it's always been a part of my house. I have a great, unobstructed view out my door (if you're not focused on the screen). I'm absolutely in love with it.Now for the cons:The instructions could be better. They seem like they were written by someone who doesn't have a background in technical writing, so I had to keep rereading sections to make sure I understood how to install it.The valance is impossible to assemble. There was no way to clip it on after installing the screen, so I ended up attaching it via mounting tape. Maybe that's just me?The bottom could really use a handle; the way I have to grab it to lift up the screen, I'm definitely going to stretch it out. I plan to add something simple myself. I may have installed the hooks too low; again, the instructions left a little to be desired.Again, I can't reiterate how much I love this product. I'll try to remember to post an update after the winter; but it's built in a way that I can easily take it in for the off seasons. Thanks for this.UPDATE: It's been a few months and, outside of having to tape the valance on with some clear duct tape, much of my original review stays. When I unhook it, I've noticed it's a little slower to retract then when I first installed it, but I'm not concerned. I ended up making a handle out of pipe cleaners.

Basically I like the screen. The instructions could be better, but if you take your time and study it, you'll figure it out. Once you know how, it is not hard to install. Mine fits against the sides of the door pretty good. I have a gap on the bottom though. I just can't quite screw the 'screen holders, quite far enough down. I wish the bottom bar had about an inch rubber flap on the bottom bar to give me that seal.Basically, I like the screen though. Not bad. I did not do a 5 star because of the instructions

Excellent job with a custom fit doorframe. The directions were a little difficult, but it was easier using the website provided. I had to use double sided tape to get the valence to stick, because the clips do not work. They are too high with the frame installed, so they continuously unclip the screen from the door frame. The only other thing I had to alter was the bottom. My door frame isn't exactly plumb, so I had to extend the clips out. Would be helpful if the bottom clips came out. Overall, great product. Just a few issues with installing.

The dimensions of the unit were perfect and then installation easy. I bought this pull down door to keep my cat out of one room, but within 2 minutes, she squeezed under the bottom of the screen.I lowered the bottom brackets so she would no longer fit under the screen and tried again. This time, frustrated by the lack of space at the bottom, she managed to squeeze between the screen and the door opening.I would have bet money my furry feline companion would not have been able to do either of these things. But I was wrong. Back to the drawing board. And, congratulations to my cat!

Like that one can use it in a smaller doorway. If one treats it gently it seems as though it will last quite a while. Like that it can be taken down for winter months. Needed to use alternate mounting directions. Took a little extra time but still works well.

The best part of this product was the seller in checking on measurements and suggesting a free tassel for my very tall door frame. Yes, the reach to the top for an 8ft door was an issue I would not have caught otherwise. It arrived quickly. Install is easy with adjustable hardware. The valance and hardware color are white and aluminum, so it doesn't blend in for dark door frame. I hope they carry a dark color in the future. Great screen idea for doors.

The distance from top to bottom is too long without side support or guide and the wind blows it in and the insects can still get in. May be you can make 2 u channels to be put on either side as a guide and the hold down bar eñds could run in it and a slot at the bottom to hold it down. It works goog when there is little or no breeze but i live on the beach.

Good overall design. But lacking support on the sides. It doesn't take much to loosen it from the holes on the bottom, and it does leave gaps. However, overall, with the money!
