Why does the About this item say the "set is dishwasher safe" while the Product information says "Hand Wash Only"?

I checked and see the contradictory info you found. Since it does state it is made with Italian quality glass made to withstand breaking and chipping in one section and then states it is dishwasher safe in another we have been washing them in the dishwasher with no problem. As it remarks it is resistant to chipping and breaking…so far as any glass may be. We really find these to be nice glasses and are quite happy with them.

Are these glasses both lead and cadmium free? Including the colored ones? Can I get more information on the sprayed color?

The glass ware is clear it looks blue in the ad. There is nothing in the packing information that indicated weather or not they are lead or cadmium free. The company has been in business since 1825. It is a solid glass and I like the texture as it helps me keep hold of it. Look up the company on the web.

Does the glass get hot if you use it in microwave to heat water?

I don’t use a tall water glass to heat water in the microwave. We only put room temperature or cold drinks in these glasses.

Is the bottom of these glasses flat? Will they fill with water in the dishwasher when they are turned upside down?

Pretty flat and although there is a very slight indentation it is not deep enough that my dishwasher drying cycle retains any water on the glass. I have washed now multiple times, and have not had that problem.
