I love this book! My wife got it for me for my birthday and although I have only read the first 3 chapters I felt compelled to write a review. Each chapter is a short story of the gods of India and told in such a fun and magical way! I love nothing more than to put on some Eastern meditation music, light some incense and get lost in one of these wonderful stories! I find myself smiling, laughing or really contemplating what the message of the story might be. The chapters are very short and quick to read and I can't wait for my next one.

What a beautiful book. After every story, I pause with emotion and a fuller heart. Myths speak to us in a different way. You don’t know where they’re going but when you get to the end you feel their messages in a deep way. I highly recommend this and every book from Kamla. She offers such gifts of spirit to the world. So blessed that I found her. She shares her beautiful spirit in these lessons of love.

I loved reading this book! It's a great before bedtime read as you can read one short story and put it down...if you have that kind of discipline of course. I have already gone back and started reading this a second time. It's that good.

Love the way the stories are told in this book!

I find it interesting to see where different cultures evolve based on the myths and legends of its people. Its also interesting to see how similar and different these myths/legends can be from culture to culture.

If you like fairy tales you will enjoy these Indian tales just as much as an adult as you enjoyed American fairy tales when you were a kid.

This is a great book for anyone looking for an introduction to the spiritual/philosophical and (sometimes whimsical)l stories of Hindu tradition. They are a pleasure to read on many levels. Kapur's translation is excellent; You feel she is reading to you...I bought the Kindle edition. I regret not buying the book. I have since seen it and it is beautifully done. This is one I would like to hold in my hands.
