Very good, would recommend. (Notes for first time buyers)
I've used these for 2 batches of fermented drinks. So far, they have worked really well. I had no problem when they arrived. The seal seems good, and I have not had any issues with the airlock or bugs getting in. It came clean and cleans well. I plan to use these later on for fermented fruits and veggies like pickles and hot sauces, so I say it's pretty versatile. Here is what I would warn ahead of time: Any ferments, please account for liquid displacement. It may be a gallon, but if you have a gallon of water and need to add something to it, you will not use the whole gallon. Given this, I recommend making adjustments when measuring. If you can find it, especially if full 1-gallon batches are your aim, find a larger size jar. The S-shaped airlock is very nice, and when doing any form of ferment i recommend using Everclear as the airlock fluid. But when the lid is on tight, you need to refill the airlock a tiny bit to compensate for evaporation. Remove the lid fully and take off the airlock after. Trying to remove the airlock with the lid on tight can cause reverse suction and allow Everclear into the ferment instead of outside of it. I recommend using Everclear instead of water because anything that goes into it will most likely die faster than plain water. In addition, when removing the lid for samples or refilling the airlock, make sure that when either event occurs, you replace the lid on top of the mouth of the jar to limit oxygen exposure and to keep CO2 inside as much as you can. That way, it is still protected but able to be adjusted when adding/removing samples or ingredients or refilling the airlock. Make sure the lid is on tight when done and that the airlock neck sits high enough inside so fermenting bubbles don't spit up into the airlock. had this happen recently. When it does, remove the airlock, clean it, sanitize it, refill, and reapply with the neck slightly higher. Most of the time, this will have solved the issue with no contamination. All in all, these jars have proven to be pretty good. I would recommend.

Fermentation made easy!
These are great! Clear glass gallon jars that come with a bubbler to see active fermentation. I’ve made several batches of honey mead so far, using some locally grown honey, water, yeast, and yeast activator/feeder. Next I’m going to try fermenting some vegetables out of my garden when things are ready to harvest. This is a good size if you’re just starting out making mead, homegrown wine, or looking for an alternative to pressure canning for preserving vegetables. As long as you don’t overfill it, you should have zero problems with leaking. The bubbler fits securely in the to of the lid, and when you add a little water, you can actually see the fermentation bubbles being released so you know it’s working. Great size for beginners who want to learn how to do things in their own!

Not a bad option - but there may be better
First things first, this set come with two glass jars with measurements marked up the sides, two lids with holes drilled in the middle, rubber grommets to help seal the holes, and two airlocks to insert once you have the grommets in place. The big issue I had was that one of the airlocks was broken, rendering it useless (the top cup snapped off, presumably in transit, as both pieces were in a jar). Still, it's not a bad price for two gallon sized glass jars with measurements, lids, airlock (no s on that one, since one broke), and the grommets. If one already had grommets and airlocks, buying a glass jar of pickles and drilling a hole in the metal cap would work as well, but then there's the gallon of pickles that have to be eaten before anything can be brewed. Aside from the broken air lock, this product seems to work just fine. I currently have both jars full of strawberry wine bubbling away happily (also ordered a set of 8 airlocks in this order, so I was able to replace the broken one) - and I didn't have to eat two gallons of pickles first!

Great price for the quality!
The wide mouth makes it simple to clean and I appreciate the extra gasket that was included ( they're easy to lose). If you're a beginner, try adding some brine thats already fermented (if available) to give the good bacteria a head start. Make sure to sterilize before use!

Great idea but damaged, flimsy bubbler
This order was doomed from the beginning, and it sickens me to tell you this story of doom, despair, and agony on me. The package was delivered by US Postal service.... to the wrong house. After discussing with the Post Master they went and retrieved my package. The package was in great shape, unopened. But there are more issues. You may read my tale of woe and regret below. 😂 The lid on one jar was split like it was cut with a sword. One of the bubblers was split along the manufacturing seam. The bubblers are really flimsy. But wait... there's more. 😂 I processed a return and sent the order back with UPS. Now, UPS has lost the package and can't find it in their system.🤦♂️ Amazon says they will refund anyway after 6/18/2023. We'll see. In the meantime, I'll be taking antacids for my nerves. 😂 I'm confident it will all work out. Blessings.

Quality product
This setup for fermentation projects is great! The wide mouth makes it easy to fill and clean, while the durable glass ensures a solid, quality feel. The airlock works perfectly, allowing gases to escape while keeping air out, making it ideal for brewing DIY fermentation projects (like mead for myself lol). I have put them through quite a few batches now and so far have not had any issues. The lid fits securely, and everything feels well-made. Overall, it’s a great, hassle-free setup for home fermentation enthusiasts. Highly recommend!

They are pefect!
I put a whole 6lb cabbage in one. I can easy put a 10lb cabbage in it. The holes in the lid were not aligned but I kept twisting the inner liner and it lined up perfectly. When I first attached the rubber ring and attempted to put on the double airlock on, the rubber ring popped off. I just turned the ring upside down and again, PERFECT. Lovely, strong, easy to clean, easy to fit my arm in to push the cabbage down and easy to put the weights in. I love these jars and highly recommend!

Es ideal para hacer Tepache y cualquier fermento
No se compara con una vitro lera pero para hacer Tepache y cualquier fermento es ideal ya que contiene la trampa de aire la cual una vitro lera carece de ella.
