Dear Lifver Company: You need to edit the description header for this item. It is NOT ceramic over carbon steel. It's really nice, heavy & good looking casserole-baking dish-pan. Unfortunately the description is misleading. IT IS NOT ENAMELED STEEL! It's heavy ceramic. I checked it with magnets & it is NOT steel. They should not even use the words carbon steel in the description. That is very misleading. If I needed another non-metal casserole baking-dish/pan, I would've kept this because it is indeed quite nice. I wanted a casserole-baking dish/pan that I could use on stove top to brown or par-cook before placing in the oven to bake or roast or broil, and then to be able to take from oven to stove top to make gravy/sauce after baking or roasting meat/poultry/fish/vegetables. This is suitable for oven & microwave only. It is a beautiful casserole-baking dish & of generous size, but definitely not steel & not suitable to use on a stove top burner or flame.
