Catherine's Pain

Having purchased and viewed a few of Bill Zebub's low budget efforts I have a fair sense of where he's coming from and how well he's achieving it. A couple of his favorite genres are obviously horror & sexploitation and his 'films' (actually most are shot direct to video) are often awash in transgressive imagery and plot lines. Occasionally Zebub pokes fun at himself and the genre with some satirical flair ("Assmonster" and "Dolla Morte" come to mind) and these can be sorta amusing in a heavy-handed way. On other occasions Bill takes himself 'seriously' and often the result is somewhat less successful... which is how I would rate "Catherine's Pain".Having now sat through this mean-spirited little flik I'd have to say that it was a pretty hack exercise. It is mentioned within the film's 'extras' section that this movie is actually a re-make/re-packaging of one of Zebub's earlier efforts: "Rape Is A Circle". Buried somewhere in the 'plot' there appears to be a moralistic glimmer that Zebub is attempting to show the causal motivation for his female lead character's, otherwise somewhat inexplicable, actions in kidnapping two innocent females and subjecting them to a bunch of torturous indignities. Sounds like it could be 'hot', but, believe me, it's not. When, at one point, the film stoops to bringing out the Barbi dolls to provide some 'artful' S&M symbolism it totally lapsed into absurdity (However, IF crucified Barbi's are your 'thing' be sure to check out the aforementioned 'Dolla Morte' for lotsa more of that action!). Like all Zebub flix there is a goodly helping of topless girls, but even that can't save this one. If you've a hankering for nasty kidnapped & molested gurl action - Zebub's "Breaking Her Will" gives a slightly better 'bang fer your buck' - but it's pretty weird in its' own right. Possibly worth a look if the price is cheap enuf - definitely not a 'date movie' - unless your GF is pretty 'bent'.

I don't understand why Amazon sells an awful movie like this. Please save your time and money, even if they offer the movie for free. don't waste your time. it is the worst s***y movie if they call it a movie you ever seen. it is a punch of prostitute trying to make a movie. without a story, just a punch of tits all what you get. if you pay three cents for it, you still ripped off.

This was one of the worst movies I have seen. The acting was probably the worst that I have ever witnessed, I could not finish watching it. That was about 15 minutes of my life that I will never ever get back. I looked at the special features and it had out takes from from other actresses considered for the main roll; should have used one of them. This "movie" is now in the local landfill somewhere. (sorry, not even recyclable)

This movie is excellent movie enjoy but you need a strong stomic to watch so be a wear of the movie it is very sexuality not for kids at all do not bring kids only adults you need a good head to focus enjoy no girl friend recommended enjoy if girls watch it remember its only a movie not real life . Another entry into my b-rate collection. Its a fun movie for what it is and like the rest should be enjoyed with a case of beer.

Catherine's Pain? It was painful as a viewer and a Bill Zebub fan to endure this drivel! I'm surprised I lasted 25 minutes before I started to get bored and nod off!!! This was Bill Zebub trying to be clever and it failed abysmally. It lacked any of the sick and twisted fun we have come to expect from Mr Zebub despite a very attractive cast! Boring and an absolute waste of time and money. Even the bonus fetaures were an absolute borefest!! Save your cash and avoid this - you'd be better off sticking to the likes of Zombie Christ which absolutely leaves this in the crap pile in the corner!!
