URO Parts 51418408567 Door Lock Rod Grommet, Black

This product deserves a great review! If you own (or by other means have to care of) a BMW X5 generation E53 (model years 2000 to 2007) you know how many small plastic parts of that model fall, get broken, deteriorate. This door lock rod grommet, especially if you had to take the inner door cover often (to fix locks, window regulators, etc.) gets broken. Around the internet, including here on Amazon, different vendors have been selling for years something they claim is the original part and when the part gets delivered just by the look of it you can tell that is not an OEM part. It has plastic molding whiskers on it, looks very rough, really does not create the impression of an original part BMW will authorize to sell. When you try to install such (bad) part, it does not fit well, it tightens around the rod, it does not let it move, and it causes all sorts of issues. This (currently reviewed) part looks different and definitely creates the impression of an original OEM (original equipment manufacturer) part. It has high quality finish, no plastic molding whiskers, very smooth and fine detail finish, just by the looks it promises to work. It installs very well. It fits perfectly in the door cover opening. It keeps the rod well oriented, but also lets it move (shift up and down) very well. It looks like a small and unimportant part but if you had this part missing or broken on one of the most visible areas on your BMW - the top side of the door cover - you will know how annoying it is. Thank you URO Parts for putting on the market an original part! I called a few friends of mine who own BMWs to check out your products.

Great quality part, works well on my E53 X5

Easy to put on and fit perfectly

I would have given it a 5 🌟 rating, but I'm disappointed. It cost to much for just one little piece of plastic. Though it took a minute to install, it fit my 2003 BMW X5 perfectly. I just wish it came with all 4. Never know, I might need another one one day.
