Find another way
This is probably true for all of the sonic mole chasers: I placed one at the base of 14 newly planted fruit trees. Nearly every single tree over the last couple of months has a mole furrow leading directly up to the chaser! It's as if they bait them. The moles then proceed to frolic in the root systems as if the chaser isn't even there until the tree dies. I've recently turned all of them off. They do not work.

unique little device
I believe it works. Can be a little annoying for Humans. After a while you don't even notice it. It emits a short pulse in the ground which drives the rodents away. Please note!!! bury the stake fully in the ground for full affect. not just a few inches but all of the way in the ground only leaving the solar cap exposed. Its also less annoying for Humans doing this.

Short life expectancy for this product.
Product does not last. I got a fraction over 1 year of use with this item and all 16 repellents no longer work. I contacted the manufacturer and they did not reply and amazon was not willing to provide replacements (which is understandable). They worked reasonably well for a while but for reasons i can't explain they no longer work.

Mole rid
I used 24 of them, for 3 wks they stayed charged and continued to buzz well,all I can say is they were easy to place. Placed about 6-7 inches into the soil. Our star moles are still working right along. Sorry not sure that they are truly putting out the sound that irritates moles
