Great Squirrel Cage Fan: Moves the air out quickly and only makes a very light noise.
The noise I had gotten with my 20 yr. old Nutone exhaust was awful. Instead of a rotary fan blade this unit uses a balanced plastic squirrel cage and makes very little noise. It's just the sound of air flow, and it's soft and wouldn't have any effect on your concentration or listening ability. The old rotary fans make rumbling sounds related to the rotary design. The fan I had was replacing was connected to a 4 inch plastic duct pipe to the outside. I had to pull it out and replace it with 6 inch metal flex air pipe. Sometimes you may be able to duck tape the new pipe needed for this fan to your existing pipe, and use the existing pipe to tug the new pipe in place as you pull the old pipe out. The extra work is worth it if you want the vapors removed fast and with very little sound. Another little know fact: Old bathroom exhaust fans have been documented to start fires. It happens when the fans are left on all the time and develop a heavy load of internal dust. The old motor bearings will fail and lock the rotor. They have been known to over heat without blowing a breaker, and catch the internal dust on fire. I know of 2 drug stores not so far away where his happened. In both cases the resultant fire caught the dust on fire, the dust caught the plastic cover on fire, then the melting burning cover fell to a Terazzo floor with no combustibles, and burned out with the door to the toiled closed. Don't let this be U, might not be so lucky.

Pushing air through 50’ of duct just fine.
I am very pleased with this fan. The version I ordered is the single speed 150 cfm unit with 6” duct outlet. I thought it would be a two speed unit and either the page is set wrong or I just goofed. Either way, it’s a higher output fan with 6” outlet, which is what I wanted. With the larger blade wheel, it is a quieter machine. The wheel will speed up if the airflow is restricted, not because it’s intelligent but just because the impeller dynamics. It moves a good amount of air. This one is actually circulating air in the house. It is pulling through a 12x12 filter, 25’ of 8” return, and 25’ of 6” supply to the other end of the house. It is silent (the fan is attic mounted in a box) and offers a good breeze at the 4x12 register. I chose the delta fan because we have three others- 2 in bathrooms and one cooling an electronics closet. I prefer the dc motors in them and their quality of construction. The server closet fan has run a full year non stop and has been excellent.

love this fan it is super quiet and gets the job done. I was a little annoyed when I realized it had a larger than standard requirement for exhaust ducting.

FANtastic!!!
We've had this installed for over one year. When connected to a wide pipe and vented into the attic, it made essentially NO sound. We could only tell it was on by the green light. When we found the bad way the contractor had vented it and he corrected that by attaching the 6 foot long vent hose to a smaller diameter grill exiting under the roof's soffit, it was far less quiet but still very quiet. We can tell it's on 90% of the time, but it's not distracting. It's so many times quieter than every vent fan we've had in the past. It's been running fine this whole time, and it's easy to clean. The grill slides out several inches on metal rods, so the inside can be cleaned without having to remove or disconnect the grill. This 150CFM vent vents our 12'x12'x9' bathroom REALLY well! It's a rare day when we even see water vapor on the bathroom mirror or window, even with a steamy hot shower on a cold damp day.

Panasonic Features, Quality, and Efficiency at half the cost from a large reputable brand
This is my second Delta Breeze product and I have a 3rd one on the way. They have done a great job here at fitting what I see as a gap in the market - between the low end of Nutone/Broan and the high end of Panasonic. I love the Panasonic fans but its just hard to justify at 4x the cost of the low end stuff. This does a great job of giving you virtually all the benefits of a ECM blower, LED lighting, thick sheet metal, low noise, at only about 2x the cost of a low end fan, which is well worth it. The LED light could be a little bit brighter, it is probably equivalent to a 60W incandescent as they claim, but I was running a 19W (100W equiv) LED in my prior fan, but overall very happy with it.

Whisper-Quiet Efficiency - Delta BreezSmart SMT130H: A Bathroom Upgrade Worth Every Penny
For anyone on the fence about choosing the Delta BreezSmart SMT130H for their bathroom, I can confidently say it's an investment worth making. Its performance, ease of installation, and smart features like the humidity sensor make it a superior choice in the market. Whether you're replacing an old fan or installing a new one, this model will not disappoint. Five stars all the way for transforming our bathroom experience!

This is a fairly good fan and it is very quiet
This is a fairly good fan and it is very quiet. The humidity sensing functionality is however very strange. First, it doesn't really work, the fan stays on ALL the time no matter how much fiddling I've done with the humidity setting. Second, the only way to get the fan to full speed is via a second switch; the unit needs two switches, one for the main power and one to put it into moisture sensing mode or full speed. It would make much more sense to just have the unit go on to full speed when the humidity set point is reached... the speed setting functionality in moisture mode seems a feature without value like someone thought a little too hard about something that should just be simple. All that being said, it has much better draw and is way quieter than the one it replaces AND uses a lot of plastic parts inside which seems better than the one I replaced which was horribly rusted after only a few years.

Amazing fan
There's nothing to dislike about this fan , Easy install and Yes! whisper very quite! But one note from other review that i agree on. **Yes run 6" ducting all the way to vent, don't use 4" like i did originally caused back pressure and mine 3 times louder than it should be , switched to 6" PERFECT Whisper Quite!!!" Amazing drawing power in a bathroom 10 x 10. Don't pass this one up, the 135 cfm is a great speed would definitely recommend and buy again!!!

Product was exactly what I wanted. You can barely hear that it is on. I installed it in my garage to exhaust cigarette smoke and it works great in a 2 car garage. Would recommend this product

Quiet fan that does it's job well. The only con is that I have my fan connected to a timer switch. This fan's humidity sensor requires consistent power to work, so it does not work with my timer switch. According to the manual, there's no way to set it up to have that work properly. If I had known earlier, I would've saved my money and opted to buy the version without a humidity sensor.

So far so good. Bought three for the house. One is installed. The build looks solid. Will give updates if needed. This is the one that should do the job. Magnetic motor means long lasting...hopefully

Not suited for retrofit because old fan is wired with 2 core 14 awg and this fan need 3 core cable because it has connections to two hot wires. For me, to install the three core wire I will have to cut dry wall. I can only connect the humidity sensor OR the fan on/off switch. Also, it is not clear if I need a toggle switch (3 position switch for humidity sensor / fan ON / fan OFF) to get all the feature and I am not certain if three positions switch are available. The fan is quiet and this is the plus. If I have to do this again, I will buy the fan without the humidity sensor and buy a seperate humidity sensor switch because this option will work and it is about the same cost.
