Who is the HP Smart Tank 6001 best for?

The 6001 suits households that print regularly and want more than basic entry-tier features. It adds borderless printing and AI-enabled print formatting over the entry models, staying focused on home use rather than home-office document workflows.

How does the Smart Tank 6001 reduce long-term ink costs?

The 6001 uses a refillable ink system — no cartridges. Up to 2 years of ink is included — up to 6,000 black and up to 8,000 color pages. Refill by inserting the correct color bottle into the matching tank port until the transparent window shows full.

Does the Smart Tank 6001 support mobile and wireless printing?

Yes. The 6001 supports wireless printing from phones and computers. It works with the HP Smart app, Apple AirPrint, and Mopria for Android. It also includes HP's AI print formatting to reduce wasted paper when printing web pages and emails.

Does the Smart Tank 6001 support borderless printing?

Yes. The 6001 supports borderless printing for photos and documents. This is an upgrade over the basic 5000/5101 tier, which has more limited borderless capability.

When should I choose the 6001 versus the 7301?

Choose the 6001 for mixed home printing — documents, color, & occasional photos. Both models include auto 2-sided printing. Choose the 7301 if you need a 35-sheet ADF for multi-page scanning, Ethernet, or faster output (up to15 ppm vs. up to 12 ppm).
