Cut and Create Paper Mosaics: Craft Mosaic-by-Number Artworks with Paper Tiles, Scissors, and Glue

I was looking for a book to help me create my own mosaics using paper instead of tile. This book did that, kinda. It's very much a workbook, of wonderful art by the author, and the projects go from easy to more difficult. I've finished all but two, and there is more "free-styling" in the later ones. It's a lot of fun, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys detail work and color. I do agree with another reviewer that the paper included with the patterns are not quite as bright and textured as those used in the "finished" photos. That makes sense in terms of production, but it results in finished products that aren't quite as exciting as one would like. It's still worth the doing, in my opinion. Two tips: cut outside the lines; you can always trim tiny amounts off later, though I found that layering paper pieces often works fine; and when working with a glue stick (which is better than a wet glue), be careful, as it's easy to get the front side of the pieces sticky.

The book/kit was beautifully packaged. Sadly the printed papers included were without texture and the colors very flat. The image on the front of the book is bright and enticing but many other included mosiacs contained dark and muddy colors (especially the green tones). The mosaic sheets are cleverly colored on one side and contain numbered outlines on the other, although I did run into several pieces that when cut out included printing on the colored side which showed through on the finished mosaic. Additionally, cutting out the mosiac peices directly on the lines will yield a poor finished result - the background sheets contain black lines matching the corresponding pieces exactly. You will need to cut beyond the lines on the mosaic pieces to hide the guide lines on the background sheet. Even with doing this the result is poor, you loose the effect of having some of the background show through.I was not happy with any of my completed mosiac pages. I was not expecting the mosaics to be fine works of art but they looked amateurish and lacked any vibrancy in color or texture. The beautifully packaged book yields an interesting and engrossing activity with results that do not justify the amount of time and care needed to render a pleasing completed picture.I really wanted to love this project book and did not, disappointing.

This book is absolutely incredible. The instructions & comments from the author are very intelligent with great thought behind every sentence. The presentation of the book & supplies is very professional. And the pictures are all stunning. I’m just starting this craft and am so excited about this book. My only wish is that the author had more volumes available!!

I have been having a lot of fun with this book. It includes 9 mosaics to complete. I love the color/sticker by number feel it has. The paper included varies slightly from the example but the artist states in the beginning of the book she used different types of paper then provided in the kit. Perfect relaxing activity!

Really enjoyed this book a lot. Easy to do and very relaxing, I have a stressful job and tried the book at break time. It works for me. Simple steps and pretty colors... really fun to see the pictures come to life slowly. The designs are friendly and full of nature

I really love this book and i am waiting for book 2. I am saving the last few pages so won’t ran out.This cut and paste is better than the sticker ones.

Really nice projects. But your child, or you, better be really disciplined as there is a lot of cutting out of really small mosaics.

Needing some guidance to use this style of illustration for a children's book I'm writing and illustrating. A fun and colorful crestive process.

I love this, the designs are pretty and its so easy to do. My only criticism is that the placeholders for the numbered tiles are too big, hence ugly black lines are visible.

Although the book itself seems good quality, there were no scissors or glue in the pack, the description clearly states that these would be included

This lovely craft book ticks all the boxes.What a wonderful productionI recommend this book to anyone interested in creating mosaics.

Shall be sending back, the book is okay, but I just wanted something simpler to spend time on.
