KidKraft Lil' Symphony Wooden Play Guitar, Kids Musical Instrument Toy, Gift for Ages 3+

My 3 year old grandson has demonstrated a proclivity towards music from an early age which we naturally like to encourage. His eyes lit up when he saw the "real" guitars some friends of his parents had in their home and while I wasn't ready to purchase one of those just yet, this guitar looked perfect for his birthday - and it was and has been! He loves strumming it and I feel it provides a sound basis (no pun intended) for a first actual guitar he can actually learn to play and truly appreciate acoustics on, because even with proper tuning this likely doesn't measure up to the qualifications of what would be expected with musical standards of most guitars if one is looking for such a feature. It would have been great if it came with a strap but those two comments don't take away the sheer pleasure my grandson has gotten from this item and that alone is worth 5 stars.

We purchased this as a birthday gift for our son, who is turning 3. Upon inspection, the quality seems excellent, well worth what we paid. Here are some observations: TUNING I am not a guitarist, but I do know how to tune one. (If you're not sure, there are plenty of helpful videos on YouTube!) This guitar is very easy to tune, but - as other reviewers have observed - it does fall out of tune very quickly! Like, by the time I was done with the sixth string, I had to go back and adjust the first again. So if you are very sensitive to pitch, this might get old quickly. DURABILITY As we have not yet given it to our son, I cannot attest to the guitar's long-term durability. But I gather from other reviewers that, as a toy designed for preschoolers (who are, ahem, not the gentlest of creatures), it can withstand some rough handling. And it does seem very sturdy. PLAYABILITY As others have emphasized, this guitar is I indeed a TOY. But for a toy string instrument, it sure gets a nice sound! The strings are real, with varied weights - not like many other toy guitars, which often have cheap plastic strings that all sound the same. They are soft, so they won't hurt a preschooler's fingers. And there is an extra set of strings included, which is a very nice touch. In conclusion, for what it is - and for the price we paid - I couldn't be more pleased! My little musician is going to be unstoppable. Of course, this pitch-sensitive momma might need to invest in some ear plugs... But still it will be worth it.

This was a Christmas present for my daughter, she was so happy a she really loves it. The guitar is perfect size for little kids and the quality is good.

Got this for my autistic five year old for Christmas. She loves it. Would have been cool if it came with a strap. It's easier for little ones not to drop it that way. But otherwise it's a decent little guitar. I had it personalized for her and tuned by a friend. Not sure why all the comments that it's not playable or not a real guitar. It absolutely is. It's just not super high quality (hence the price), and of course if you give it to a very small child, they are rough with their possessions, and it may well get broken. Supervision helps prevent that. My only little gripe is that the strings are metal rather than nylon, so I have to be extra careful that kiddo doesn't play too roughly, break a string, and hurt herself, but that's not a big deal. Overall happy with this purchase.

I cant say enough good things about this guitar and I have a bought a few different kinds. My daughter is now three and I bought it for her when she was two and half. The guitar is the perfect size and well last her until she is at least 8. Its not the most in tune guitar even after tuning it but doesn't sound terrible. One of the strings has broke but it came with extra strings and was easy to replace. Im not sure your toddler is going to seriously learn how to play on this but what 2-4 year olds are really playing anyways.

I bought this as a gift for Christmas for my 2 year old great grandson and he loves it! I was surprised at how well it was made and looks great too! You can adjust the strings, etc.. While it is a bit large for him I know he will grow into it! I wish it had came with a strap because I think he could handle it better but I can get him one. He loves to watch music videos and had this tiny guitar so now he is a real star!! I highly recommend this ~ you will be surprised by how well it is made and looks.

I got this for my toddler as he expressed an interest in playing guitar after watching some sort of cartoon/movie. It’s the perfect size for him (he’s a big 3 year old) and he seems to love it but after some use we found two tiny screws that hold the string adjustment dials had fallen out. No problem, I don’t mind if things need a little TLC if they get used. In my attempt to put the screws back in, I found that the screw holes were useless and either stripped or the screws simply stayed in place by some sort of magical force. Guitar still works and it’s a good price for a toddlers guitar but I might look elsewhere if I were to do it again

This was a gift for our grandson's fourth birthday. He was clearly happy with it upon opening it. He keeps telling his father he wants to plan "band" with him. Dad has to play the drums while the four year old plays the guitar. Have to start them early!

It was a Birthday present for my 4 yr. Old Grandson. He was very excited about it but still....after that excitement wears off, kids need some how to play basic instruction with the guitar or just becomes another toy.
