Factory look, ez install, great support
There is a lot to like about the fitcamx. I recently installed one in my Polestar 2 and I am very pleased with the results. First off, if you want something that looks like it came from the factory, there is simply no better choice. This goes beyond hiding the wires to a seamless design. Installation is also very simple, especially if you can use mirror wiretap as with the Polestar. These are popular enough that you will likely find online instructions and videos specific to your vehicle. I had front and rear done in less than an hour, running wire to rear representing the bulk of that time. Video quality is excellent. I have several dashcams from various brands, this is as good as any of them. I won't say it is the best you can buy, but it is more than adequate for 95% of people and use cases. The app works well. I am also impressed with Fitcam support. I did have an issue with rear camera interfering with FM. I contacted support and the immediately sent out a replacement. The one thing that this does not have, which is an important feature to many people, is GPS tracking / logging. Thus, when you review video it does not include that information.

Only dash cam I’ll ever own
This is genuinely a fantastic product. Super quick and easy to install, fast recording speed, amazing picture quality, and looks absolutely OEM on the car. No ugly suction cup or wires dangling down just pure form and function

Super basic functionality and camera quality.
The biggest pro is it does integrate nicely with the car’s interior. It definitely looks OEM and I’m sure most open would have a really hard time even noticing it was there. That said, the features on the camera and app are super basic for the price. You basically have manual and impact detected recording while the car is in and that is absolutely it. Further, the image quality is mediocre at best. It definitely doesn’t look as clear as bigger name brands out there. Overall, I wouldn’t purchase this again for the price. There are way better options out there which look pretty discrete and have relatively simple installations as well.

Easy to install and blends in with the car great
So far only used this for a day but it’s the easiest dashcam I’ve installed and vey impressed with the OEM-like look. Easy to access videos. The connectivity for live video in the app is slightly annoying to connect to the camera WiFi but standard for these dashcams. I like the simple but robust functionality available to adjust in the app.

Perfect fit for the Polestar 2, but software and video quality leave something to be desired.
This is a nice looking camera, the installation is easy for the Polestar 2, and it taps power from the auto-dimming-mirror/Homelink power connection so there's no need to run a power cord externally (which I would always be concerned about in case of a crash and the airbags deploy). In addition, the software, though basic, is functional for downloading the clips wirelessly (albeit somewhat slowly) and changing a couple of settings. No advanced features such as license plate recognition, detection, etc. When installed, the camera is basically invisible and barely obscures vision through the windshield. My main gripe is that although the camera works well during the day, at night the poor dynamic range of the camera (combined with the relatively bright headlights on the Polestar 2) causes pretty much any reflective surface to be washed out and illegible. Although the overall video is of nice quality, the license plate of the vehicles ahead of you tend to be illegible at night. This somewhat defeats the purpose of having such a dash cam to begin with at night. I would greatly prefer a version perhaps with lower resolution, but higher dynamic range (e.g. fewer but larger pixels).

Did not last long
Only worked for a month. After would not record anything or connect to the phone.

CMOS battery dies after first year
My CMOS battery died after about 18 months. Review of the issue online indicates the CMOs battery on these units routinely dies after the first year, so every time you power up the car the date stamp reverts to midnight 1/1/2023. And the CMOS battery is soldered to the board, so replacing it is a real pain. Would not recommend this brand unless you intend to replace your dashcam every two years

Great fit and look, easy install
Love the way this installs. I have yet to test the video quality, but otherwise it’s looking pretty good. Definitely my favorite thing has to be the OEM look of the finished install, and neatly tucking all the wires inside the housing. The kit comes with a plastic pry tool so that was super nice. They have an install video, and the app also references said video. I wish the video was a little slower but otherwise taking the pieces out is still relatively easy. I was initially worried about the fixed angle of the camera, but after installing it, the FOV is about where I would have it pointed, picture included here. I wish it has audio feedback for when it turns on/off, and when I lock a clip (e.g. do not overwrite clip). Clearer instruction on how to lock a clip would be nice too, but I believe pressing the camera button also locks the clip in addition to capturing a still. Overall great product!

The camera itself is great, albeit with no GPS so there's no speed or location overlay on the videos. It's easy to fit and the front cam is seamless with the car's trim though the cable to the rear camera could do with a few more cable clips being supplied. What really lets this down is the terrible connectivity to the phone app. Your phone connects via a WiFi hotspot which usually takes 7 or 8 attempts to actually connect to the hotspot (that's after you've turned off CarPlay, Bluetooth and mobile data that all seem to interfere) and then when it is connected, the videos are constantly pausing or it just disconnects altogether and then you're back to another loop of "failed to connect to <hotspot name>" over and over again. If you didn't have road rage before then this is guaranteed to cause it.

Fitting the camera is not really difficult however the instructions were out of date and I had to contact customer support to confirm the correct cables and connectors to use. Also after using the camera for a few months there are some notable issues; the camera automatically saves crash information each time you park your car, the parking sensor only works for 3 mins after you get out the car (due to power), the physical save button does nothing, if the memory card is over 50% used then the unit stops recording the rear camera. Unless you are really bothered by having a dash cam stuck to your window I would recommend and cheaper and better solution

Really disappointed with the image quality from this dashcam - at the point this image was taken, I and the car in front were stationary. The car in the opposite direction was moving coming off the roundabout. Haven't a hope seeing moving numberplates and that image of the car in front is as much as you cna see of their numberplate, it doesn't get any clearer. I trialled a dashcam at <50% of the cost at the same time and it captured the numberplates ahead crystal clear, and got a partial for the approaching car. Easy decision to return this one and keep the cheaper cam!
