I bought this Wake 31.8 mm bike stem to upgrade my mountain bike, and it turned out even better than I expected. It feels sturdy, well-built, and surprisingly light. Pretty lightweight although made of aluminum. Works for a ridstar q20 e-bike, and probably any ebike for that matter. Nice color and not cheaply made, great quality. Ignore the cheap price, you wouldn’t even know. Id still buy this if it was 30 dollars

*former bike mechanic of 6 years* Ive had this on my stock Giant Talon for a year and a half now, and it’s fine. I ride my local blue and black trails that range from moderate downhill, small jumps and drops, to techy xc stuff. My area is realllly rocky. No real issues, it’s holding up fine, but I am only 160lbs. My biggest complaint is that it’s creaky. I’ve taken it off, thoroughly cleaned, greased bolts, and reinstalled and made sure to tighten the bolts evenly and to the torque spec multiple times, but I can’t get it to stop creaking. Especially noticeable on climbs or when you put a lot of torque on the bars. It doesn’t fill me with confidence, but again, it’s been ridden fairly hard for a year and a half and hasn’t failed yet… it was only 10 bucks. If it costed more then it would get a lower score. Got the gold and it’s cool.

Great quality stem for the price better than expensive versions. Surprised me on the amazing quality and the durability of it. The size is perfect and the color of the black is amazing. It is super easy to install and I had no troubles.

Short stem makes the bike look a lot better

Great product for the price. Provides much more comfort from the longer stock Trek head clamp. Color works good too, about as close to the photo as can be. I regretted not getting the gold, but thats on me. One thing people should be aware of: You'll likely need an additional headset spacer to make this work. The stem clamp is shorter than most stock, and an extra spacer is needed to fill the gap and pull the headset bearings tight.

So it is a bit of a mixed bag, ultimately it didn't work for me. I did a bike build and wanted to experiment with stem lengths to find the right cockpit. Anodization is nice quality and blingy, doesn't appear to scratch easily. Weight is a little more than expected, but felt solid. Fit 1 1/8" and bolts all tightened in cleanly and securely. Solid and has a BMX feel. So why only 3 stars? It is way shorter than a standard stem, make sure you have extra spacers! I didn't like that the steerer tube was exposed (and may rust?) in the gap. There's no way to insert spacer in that gap due to the design. I like a window Also, when I tried to tighten up on my 31.8 carbon bars I felt like there was too much of a gap at the connectors (like this was designed for a slightly smaller diameter tube?) I put it on allow bars and tightened down and seemed fine. Anyway, cheap enough to experiment with and not feel bad!
