JAYROBB Whey Protein (1.5 Pound Vanilla)

Jay Robb was recommended to a family member by a gastro surgical facility prior to their weight loss surgery 8 years ago. The flavors (Whey) product were great and results were good. So in shopping for my protein powder it was the go to. Very good and taste is subtle. Works very well in smoothies.

I just started into my fitness journey in September 2018, but I've always been relatively health conscious. I am not a fan of a lot of protein powders due to the number of chemicals and junk that's in them. I wanted a protein powder that was going to help me get to my goals, without putting a bunch of crap in my system. Just seems contradictory to me. I love the limited ingredients in this powder. I will say that it is pretty sweet due to the stevia that is in it, but I have gotten used to it. I put the vanilla powder (1/2 scoop) in my greek yogurt in the morning in order to up my protein for breakfast. I also add it to shakes in the afternoon. It tastes really good in chocolate almond milk. I lift heavy weights two days a week and do cardio/interval training another 3-4 days a week. I need a quick way to increase my protein intake to support the intense workouts that I'm putting my body through. This does the trick! It is not a "meal replacement" shake, so it won't leave you feeling full for long if you're drinking it with just water. I usually combine it with milk, a banana, and some chocolate peanut butter powder if I'm trying to meal replace with it. So far I'm very happy!

I'm an avid weight lifter (not looking to get massively jacked, just maintaining what I've got already), and have been using protein powders for years. I decided to stop using those synthetic, full-of-artificial-ingredients types of protein powders years ago and found Jay Robb. Maybe it was his fantastic mop of hair dyed artificially dark, or his perfectly trimmed 1990's era goatee that caught my attention (just take a look at my pic!), but I'm glad I gave it a try. Jay Robb prides his products on coming from milk from grass-fed cows, and using natural ingredients such as stevia as a sweetener instead of aspartame. I've tried his vanilla and strawberry powders, but I prefer the taste of the vanilla. It thickens my protein shakes (I use banana, avocado, cacao powder, super greens, and Jay Robb vanilla), and doesn't leave an aftertaste. Since his protein is all-natural, it's a little pricier, but I'm willing to pay more to avoid putting garbage and fillers into my body. Pay upfront and get the big 80oz. bag; it's a much better deal. Update (Jan.2022): Jay Robb has moved to Florida and has morphed into the Guru of Peace, rocking a badass new look. That means you should definitely buy his product. Fortunately, the ingredients of his protein powder haven't changed.

Been using this for many years. I believe it is the best protein product. I like the vanilla because I have the control of adding whatever other flavors I want to it. Great way to start your day!

Mine arrived with the zip-lock feature of the bag damaged so I could not safely store the contents in this bag. Instead I put it into a container I had from another brand of powder that came with a big plastic bottle (holds over a gallon). That way I didn't have to worry about bugs getting into it and it's easy to open and close. I probably would not buy this product again simply because a large quantity cost over 50 bucks and could not be stored safely in the bag provided. I think the powder itself is probably a good product. Tastes good and works good. It's just the container that is not manufactured very well and could not be relied upon to safely store the product. It takes me over a month to use a big bag of this stuff, so the ability to safely store and maintain the quality of the contents is very important. I doubt that providing a bottle-type of secure container would add much to the cost (shipping plus material). From my experience almost all manufacturers of protein powders ship their product in the large plastic bottles. I think that is very good and there is never a problem keeping the contents safe and fresh. On the plus side, the customer service representative was very helpful, responded quickly and was very nice and courteous. I did not return the product because I had an empty bottle available in which to store the powder.
