Can you remove the knife and still secure the spoon and fork together? Need to use these for a kid's lunchbox

DO NOT BUY FOR KIDS. THEY DON'T LOCK IN PLACE WHEN OPENED. OK IF YOUR LEFT HANDED MAYBE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DIDN'T JUST MAKE IT LOCK LIKE A SIMPLE BLADE LOCK. AS SOON AS YOU USE SOME PRESSURE TO GET SALAD IT UNLOCKS.
