No more poop & shavings in the water supply
Really easy to install, but really guys, an 11/32" drill bit? Not that I mind adding a new bit to my collection but couldn't you have designed it for a 3/8" (12/32")? A compression nut on the back side would be nice so you can get a good tight fit. I used a 2 gallon HDPE bucket with lid. I added a little RTV silicone seal to the back side before screwing them in to make sure of a good seal.

Just what I had hoped they would be!
After reading mixed reviews, I took a chance and got these, and I'm so glad I did. I too had bought the vertical nipples, and I too experienced serious leaks. I am not handy, however my husband is very handy and my father-in-law is a general contractor, and they tried every trick in the book to get them to stop leaking; to no avail. So we ordered a package of these, replaced the vertical ones, and the leaks stopped! Our chickens (about 3 months old) had no trouble at all learning to use them.

Some good nipples.
So far, so good. Waiting to see if they freeze up. My heater comes on at 40F but of course the nipples are on the outside. Very little water appears to be left on the cup after the chicken drinks so hopefully the stainless rod and O-ring won’t freeze. No leaks so far. My 7 month old chickens figured out to use them in just a few minutes. Even my Buff Orpington figured them out and she’s a notorious moron.

I love the idea and the chickens learned to drink right away. However after three months of having to refill a 5 gallon bucket frequently I am fed up. the reason - three out of the five nipples leak. Not sure if the seal to the metal part the beaks push on is insufficient or what. Would not recommend these.

Easy install and they work!
Installed on 5gal water bottle. (very thin plastic) threads are tapered so they seal nicely with no sealant. Chickens took to it in under 15 min.

no issues with them
These are amazing!! All of our chicken feeders/water-ers are diy and these are perfect for our water-ers LOL

They work well and the chickens figure out how to use them. Just be careful not to over tighten. They will snap.

chickens learn to use it quickly, easy to install on the bottle without any leaks at the connection. 2 out of five drips all day, and right after installation.
