I have a 10-year-old German Shepherd. Sometimes her breath is so bad that when she comes and pants near me at night it wakes me up and makes me immediately dry heave. After a lot of research and deliberation, I decided to try this bad breath treatment because it contains chlorhexidine. I'm in nursing school and we hear constantly about the wonders of chlorhexidine as an antibacterial agent. (It's reduced surgical site infections by something like 40%). Granted the amount in this breath treatment is very small compared to hospital uses. I gave my dog one treatment the night of the package arrived, and the one early the next day. I wasn't eager to check her breath, but by day three, her dumpster breath was completely gone. I turn the base so that about 2 to 3 mm of goo comes out of the top of the stick. My dog happily licks the chicken flavored goop right up. She has no resistance. Now I treat her breath occasionally when I notice it's starting to get bad again. I figure I will give her a small dose every 4 to 6 days. I love that this product comes in something that looks like a gell deodorant stick. It's so amusing to me. In the month since I've gotten it, I've already recommended it to about five people. It's fairly pricey, but with the way I'm spacing out the treatment. It will last me several months.

Im really disappointed in this product for many reasons. The first being that it did not help my dog whatsoever with removing plaque or freshening her breath. Even worse, it doesn’t last!! Doing 1 to 2 clicks a day, I go thru one container in less than a month. That’s ridiculous! It’s simply not a good product, barely has any product in the container and delivers no results… I have bought it TWICE! Thought the first bottle might have been defective and that’s why there was so little product but nope… same thing with my second purchase. I bought it a second time to see if I would have to keep using to see results I know sometimes these things take time… but NOPE! Finished the second container and no improvement whatsoever. I am very disappointed! Save your coins and don’t bother with this product. The only good thing was that my dog did like it and would lick it happily but that’s it!

Here’s the thing, I got this because my chiweenie would not let me brush her teeth and she had some bad tarter build up. I saw all the amazing reviews and was hopeful. Pros: Very easy to use. It’s literally like a deodorant stick. Also, my dog loves it. She thinks it’s delicious. However, she’ll eat just about anything, but hey. 🤷‍♀️ Price is reasonable. Cons: it didn’t do anything. However, it turns out her teeth were too far gone. I took her into the vet and she ended up having to get some teeth removed. They told me that once their teeth reach a certain point OTC stuff isn’t going to work. So if your dog’s teeth aren’t super bad like mine were maybe you’ll have better luck. I don’t know. But honestly I don’t feel confident about it. But I’m no expert.

I rescued a tiny poodle with missing teeth. It was difficult to use a toothbrush since her mouth was so tiny. I found this product at a local pet store in chicken flavor and I thought I’d give it a try. It was so easy to apply, just one twist of the top and she would lick the chicken flavor gel. My vet was skeptical but he read the ingredients and said it was fine to use since it contains Chlorehexidine. The cost on Amazon for this same product is half the cost I paid at the store and it’s delivered for free to my door.

My two labs love these- which to be honest isn’t hard to please them since they are labs and are all about food. It took the old man (12 years old) a while to know that he could lick it and eat it, but the young whippersnapper went straight in and gobbled it up! I do brush their teeth at least twice a week and give this to them every other night. Last check up for the old man the vet was very impressed with his teeth. They are still yellow-ish, but she wasn’t concerned because they all looked healthy. To me, the smell isn’t off putting (I can’t really smell it at all) but even if I could it wouldn't matter because it’s about keeping my pups as healthy as possible. I have bought both chicken and peanut butter flavors and found the peanut butter one to be slightly more liquid.

What I liked was ease of use, to clarify I have two dogs one liked it so it was no problem to administer. The other did not like it at all, so it therefore was of no use to him. It seems like a great concept but it is pricey and doesn't last long. I would estimate two weeks max. Probably better to invest $60 every two weeks and pay for cleaning with the proceeds.
