Nice latch for small gates
Nice latch, easy to install, works as shown in the instructions. I would recommend this latch for simple gates not needing security. Such as a walkway gate that is about 4 ft high. The pull string that comes with it is a nice touch and worked well when using the instructions to install it.

Be gentle closing the gate or the bar will eventually snap.
I have gone through four of these in two years. It might last forever if you close your gate manually, but if it regularly closes with a “bang” from a self closing spring, the metal bar snaps off like it’s made of glass, after a few hundred closes. I just got a heavy duty latch which is quite a bit thicker. Hoping that one doesn’t snap too.

Smaller than it Looks
The one I was replacing was much larger and I expected it to be about the same size based on the price but that's my fault for not checking the details. The item however was very well made and very sturdy. In the end, it does the job but a bit pricey for the size.
