Rockford Fosgate R1-S412 400W Wired Subwoofer - Black

i replaced my yamaha sub ycs 1212 with this rockford in a sealed box same as specified by rockford...the yamaha was tired but twice the rockford for low bass pedals that we find on live recordings from rush or genesis or floyd or marillion....the fostgate seems to be cut at 50 hz and wont go down to 30 hz like my yamaha does. it just gives a huge 50 to 80 hz peak. my amp is a clarion as 1100 sub amp with crossover and variable boost 12 db 30hz. i know it is areally good amp for sub harmonic cause ive compared it with 3 other amps when i bought it on my yam 1212. so if your a disco buff the fosgate is for you but if you want these bass pedals out there...this fogate doesn't know what it is! follow up...i've build the recomended duct tube box with 1 inch particle board...same problem but less `punchy`..this is a good woofer but not subwoofwr...it doesnt'go below 40 hz...probably bult that way by fostgate so it doesn,t blow! the good thing is that i repaired my Yamaha ycs 1212 and put it in that box...well it`s now back down to 30Hz with my Marillion spirit of eden , which is a superb test for subharmonic lows, Genesis `the way we walk`long ones...Tool Undertown no4 (accolades) many Rush live bass pedals etc

I have two of these set up in a closed box with a 300 watt amp. The subs dont hit super hard, however I feel that the bass is perfectly boosted now with my system in my truck. On songs with no bass, its not over powering. Songs that have heavy bass, the subs come to life and improve the music greatly. Some people think that they are too weak and are a waste of money, that is until you tell them how much it cost. With the amp, box, and two subs, you can have a great starting set up for under 200$. I think they are worth the money for that if you listen to other music than just stuff that is very bass heavy.

Der Subwoofer spielt den Bass druckvoll und zufriedenstellend... bis man die Lautstärke erhöht... Schon bei relativ geringer Lautstärke ist mir das Anschlagen der Spule aufgefallen (lautes Klacken), was nicht zu überhören ist. (Es liegt nicht am Verstärker) Er sieht zwar schick aus, aber tiefe Frequenzen (unter 35hz) sind gar nicht mehr zu hören und am Außenring des Subwoofers, wo sich die Schraublöcher befinden, ist an der Rückseite kein Stoff angebracht, der Schwingungen zwischen Metall und z.B. Holz des Gehäuses abdämpft. Wer keine tiefen Bässe hören möchte, für den ist der Subwoofer zu empfehlen.

Excellent Sub woofer that will give you great quality bass without breaking your bank for high end amplifier It's 200 W RMS so can be easily drivven by Bridge mode in amplifier . I have installed JVC 03 preout HU, Infinity Reference 6530 component speakers at front , Focal AP4340 04 channel amplifier and stock speaker in rear door of my Punto along with this sub in sealed box in boot. My Punto hs become mini DJ Platform now . Go ahead with this over sony JBL pioneer sub in same budget. Have attached few pics of amplifier tuning also

I needed a speaker to upgrade my home theater system. We have an LG Bh6820s-w 1000 watt surround sound blue ray player. It puts out 126w @ 3 Ohms to the 6.5" subwoofer it came with. After searching several weeks for something to enhance the quality of sound (deeper more powerful bass) I arrived at this speaker. (I added it into several modeling programs) The R1S412 that I purchased did not leave me wanting! You can literally feel the explosions! I converted one entire side of our entertainment center into the speaker box. I have a net total of 5.13 cubic feet of internal volume, roughly 90w @ 4 Ohms, and the box is tuned to 18hz with a 15" section of 4" pvc. I stuffed some 1" foam seat cushion into the port to decrease the booming in the lowest of lows it reaches. Could not be happier with the intensity this thing brings to our home movie nights! I've gotten as low as 25hz at 85db. Now that's impressive for a 12" speaker on 90w!
