Do I need to buy a battery or can I use battery from my mower when pulling this (john deere gx255)?

It hooks up to your tractor battery with alligator clips that are included with sprayer. The clips are attached to a long twin wire that goes directly back to the sprayer. In other words, you don't need to buy a battery.

Any valuable tips from those that have used this? Much appreciated

The thing works well. Watch your pressure, about 40 is all you need....tighten down all spray connections before using. Watch the spray arms, easy to forget you’re towing it and get them caught on something.

See the wand for spot spraying, see the booms for boom spraying, but I don't see the broadcast spreader. Add says broadcast and I don't see it in ther

If you are thinking about a broadcast spreader like for dry fertilizer, No there isn't one on this. However the sprayer does broadcast the liquid in the tank approximately 10 feet wide, but they recommend overlapping so about 8" wide coverage.

What is the size of the hose?

I would guess 1/2 outer diameter.
