58mm Bottomless Portafilter 3 ears for Calphalon Temp IQ, ABS Handle

Perfect fit for my KitchenAid Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine. Sipping on my perfectly-pulled espresso drink as I type this review. Definitely a big improvement in flavor and body with the bottomless filter vs the portafilter the machine came with. I had previously bought a 5.8mm bottomless portafilter from another brand on Amazon and ultimately had to return it because the notches were too thick for my machine. So, if you have a small KitchenAid espresso machine, this one should work for you Note: if your shots are spraying, it is not a defect with the filter, it all comes down to correctly dialing in your espresso grind and preparation. In my experience, it will spray if your grounds are too coarse and/or the filter is improperly prepped.

SO this fit perfect in my Calphalon temp IQ machine, not having a pressurized basket, I had to make some changes. I purchased a new grinder DF54, gave my old OXO away as did not grind fine enough to pull a good shot from this. Can't say enough good things about the new grinder, once dialed in my shots are much more like what you get from a real barista. Fresh beans make a big difference in the crema . Wishing I would have switched grinder and poratafilter long ago. I did try to buy a single wall basket to use in my original portafilter, but it was way too tight of a fit. If you cant get good shots with this, its your grinder, the machine is not the issue IMO.

This works great! It's lasted longer than the one I got with my espresso machine. Still using it! Design fits my espresso machine very well. No leaks or grinds in my cup.

I was struggling to make great tasting espresso with the standard portafilter that comes with the Kitchenaid. With this bottomless portafilter, I am now pulling some of the best shots you can with this machine! In the video I posted, that is the very first shot I pulled straight out of the packaging. The basket inside is one thing I was worried about being poorly made, so I ordered another basket just incase. The basket is actually perfect! All the holes can clearly display light through them. The spitting in the video just shows that my coffee grind was too coarse. With a few adjustments to my grind size, I am now pulling amazing coffee! My basket is 20grams. I put in 19.5 grams and yield around 38 grams of sweet chocolaty caramel bliss! If you are debating if you should buy this, I would highly recommend it if you want to improve the quality. Still not pulling great shots with this? The reason could be because of the coffee quality you are using. Look bellow for some advice. 1. Don't use pre ground coffee. This is a No No! 2. Don’t buy coffee beans from a supermarket. 9 times out of 10, they are either over roasted poor quality beans or they have been in a hot warehouse before delivery for months. 3. You want fresh roasted coffee. When I say fresh, I don’t mean freshly roasted the day you buy it. I mean fresh roasted, aged for atleast 7-10 days or whatever the cook tell you for maximum flavor in the cupping notes. 4. But beans roasted specifically for espresso. It will be labeled “espresso” then followed by the origin, blend and roast type. Light, medium, or dark. You can use any beans you want, but if you are looking for the beautiful and tasty crema, please get beans roasted for espresso. 5. This is something you might already know after buying this portafilter. You must apply the right amount of coffee between 18.5-20g. If you are having issues with the basket being overfilled, just adjust the grind size and also invest into a dosing cup if you want to avoid a lot of mess. You will also want to make sure you tamp on a level surface. The puck needs to be level to flow properly. I know this is a long review. But now that you have reached the bottom. Enjoy the process!

I have a Caphalon Temp IQ and this portafilter is great. After dialing in my shots, it makes some pretty good espresso, good body, and nice crema. No problems with the fitment or anything. 10/10 absolutely recommend getting this,

The first time I used this with my calphalon it sprayed everywhere and there was no crema. Once I change my grind settings it was perfect. I had to set the grind to the furthest espresso setting (finest) and ensure it had 20.5 grams of beans. I use a kitchen aid grinder so the setting for 2 shots and 18.7 seconds worked perfect.

So, I have always appreciated the espresso I can make with my Calphalon Temp IQ, but with this portafilter you can pull EXCELLENT shots. Fits my machine perfectly. For those complaining that they can't make good espresso with this, who talk about no crema or spraying coffee - you have to use FRESH, quality beans, ground correctly with a conical burr grinder. It's not difficult, but there is a slight learning curve. But SO worth it. You will go from decent espresso shots to TOP level, depending on the quality of the beans you buy. If you don't already have, or don't want to buy a good grinder, have your local coffee shop grind them for you, set for an espresso maker with a bottomless portafilter. Not the best option, but will probably work for you.

The Capfei portafilter I received does not fit the Calphalon Temp iQ espresso machine. Another reviewer seems to have received a portafilter that is a good fit, but mine is not. Comparing the original portafilter with the Capfei portafilter shows a difference in the geometry of the mounting ears, which could be the issue. However, it's almost impossible to even set the Capfei portafilter in its holder, while securing it in place is out of the question. The portafilter looks well built otherwise, but that doesn't mean anything if it's unusable.

En general el portafiltros tanto en el plástico como en las partes metálicas está muy bien en cuanto a calidad, he podido agarrar portafiltros qué vienen con las máquinas Breville y este es muy parecido por no decir igual en sensación y no me pareció excesivamente caro, tal vez para la gente muy sibarita de las canastas de espresso le encuentre un pero pero a mi eso no me interesa pues para un uso doméstico normal tiene un rendimiento exactamente igual que la canasta del portafiltros qué viene de fábrica en la maquina que uso, así que todo bien.

Funciona perfecto para mi cafetera Oster Perfect Brew: BVSTEM7300. El portafiltros se siente más sólido que el que viene con la cafetera e incluso ajusta más suavemente en la misma. Considera comprar una herramienta distribuidora como un WDT para facilitar la consistencia de tu extracción.

ESTE PORTAFILTRO ES DE MUY BUENA CALIDAD, LAMENTABLEMENTE NO LE QUEDO A MI CAFETERA.

Muy buen portafiltro se siente de calidad, ajusta perfecto en mi cafetera de espresso, y filtra Muy bien.

Yo lo compré para utilizarlo en una máquina de espresso sur la table y la canastilla que viene con el.portafiltro es idéntica a la de mi máquina, por lo que fue compatible al 100% , trataré con otras canastas para probar si también son compatibles
