Better than elixirs
Been using elixirs for 15 years and had a few breakages recently. Tried these and they last longer and always sound clear and bright. Haven’t snapped one yet.

Better than Elixirs
Best strings on the market currently in my opinion. Last about 6 months before the intonation starts going in my experience, whereas the coating is good enough that the strings still *feel* fresh (this is with multiple hours of playing/gigging 5-7 days a week). Triple the price of Ernie Ball's, but they last SO much longer. Definitely worthwhile.

Sound great, feel great
I've played D'addario for decades because they sound great, feel great and last longer. These new XS continue that tradition. Just wish you could buy them in boxes of 10 like the old days.

Slightly more expensive but worth every penny
Let's get it out the way, yes these strings are expensive compared to the standard D'Addario line and other brands however this cost is outweighed by the fact I've had to change my strings less frequently. I appreciate that coated strings aren't for everyone but these are unreal. The tuning stability (usually my indicator for when I need to change strings) is great and they stay bright sounding and feel new for longer. I've never had one of these strings break on me and the only reason I had to change my last set was that I damaged one string by bumping my guitar. When I did change them all I had were a standard set of D'Addario Nickel Wound strings and the difference was immediately noticeable. If you're someone who finds themselves changing their strings all the time then there may be more financially viable options however I can't see myself using any other string in the future.

Great alternative to another company that use to rule the roost in coated strings!
These sound fine, and have a nice feel when playing. The one thing I don't like is the way the string are packaged, prefer them in separate paper envelops, with the size of each clearly printed on (like other companies do). Its way too easy to select the wrong string, especially in a hurry or bad lighting, simply separate paper envelops with size clearly printed on is not going to cost much. If cost is an issue or 'greenness' reduce the outer packaging or get rid of your players circle promotions - really what a waste! Would have been 5 stars if not for this cheapskate packaging! Would I buy again - probably yes - depends on the deals!

I like these strings quite a bit. The coating provides a slightly slippery feeling under the fingers that makes sliding your hands around the fretboard smoother than playing on standard strings. The coating feels more subtle than the coating on the equivalent Elixir strings. They have a balanced tone that lasts and lasts. These easily sound lively and new for more than three times as long as a standard XL set of strings making them a reasonable value proposition. I have used a single set for over a year on one of my guitars and it still sounds close to a new set of strings. One thing I don't like; the ball ends only feature three colors to differentiate the string gauges rather than the typical D'Addario color scheme with six different colors. While you can still identify each string gauge, it is not as easy to figure out what you need from the container because you have to examine both the ball end color and determine whether the string is wound or plain to know what gauge it is.
