Will it fit inside of a kids lunchbox?

Yes, as long as it is a rectangle lunchbox and not one that is more bag shaped.

Are you able to put it in the microwave to heat up your lunch?

We don’t microwave with plastic so probably not.

will it stay cold or hot?

Unfortunately no it will not it's not insulated. Also I wouldn't put any canned fruit in any compartment in there. I drained my daughters very well and the other compartments still Got wet.!
