Whimsy sugar cookies are thick, soft and delicious! Whimsy sugar cookies are "no spread" with a very slight rise when baked. We add natural almond flavoring to the mix for a very luxurious flavor like no other. Mix: In a mixer, cream 1 ½ sticks butter until light and fluffy. Next add 1 large egg and mix until combined. It will be runny at first. Next slowly add the dry cookie mix until your dough comes together. Refrigerate: Shape dough into a flat disc, wrap in cling wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Roll: Dough to 7/16” for a thick and soft sugar cookie. Or roll the dough to 3/8” if you prefer a still soft cookie with a slight crunch. Use up to a 4-inch cookie cutter and place cutouts approx. 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Refrigerate cutouts on cookie sheet for 15 minutes before baking. Bake: At 350 for 8-10 minutes, until a very light golden brown. Bake until the center rises and cookie has a slight golden browning on the edges. Check progress at approx. 8 minutes for absolutely delicious cookies every time! You get one 17.5oz bag. This is enough mix to make app. 14 large sugar cookies!
