Purchased this because my Sizzix Hexagon die was beginning to show signs of wear. Surprisingly, papers cut from this punch match well although I shouldn't care to use it to cut the number of papers required for a double quilt. Maybe a few at a time. Very sharp, I use it upside down in order to ensure that the whole shape is cut from the paper. Used with the lever up might mean bits of the shape are nipped off.

Good punch to use

So on the packaging it does show as 2.5cm (1”) cut out shape , this is measured Diagonally, and not what most people are expecting , as they are wanting a 1”, square shape. I ordered this because I wanted smaller than 1”, ( I wanted 20mm) but as I cannot find a 2cm Square ANYWHERE, I’ll have to make do with this. As you can see from the photo, it is actually 18mm x 18mm. So unless you want much smaller than 1” size. Don’t buy. It’s useful for me , but I only got it by looking at people’s comments, and the only other size 18mm square punches , cost twice the price of this one!

Despite the poor description, I'm happy with the punch itself. Having read the other reviews I concluded this was the size I required ie 3/4". I needed it to match other items I am making swatches for. It punched sharply through its own packaging, always a useful test. The benefits of reading other reviews carefully.

Does what it says. Nice and small

I got the size large, and it gives you a 1 inch square, to help see the detail when you are painting in watercolour, by moving it around the photo you are painting or drawing. This is the only one that will give you a 1 inch square. I thought the price was a bit high, but it does the trick, and it's strong. Would I buy it again?. YES I would.

Als fan van de Vaessen ponsen kan ik niet anders zeggen dan dat het me erg tegenviel hoe slecht deze ponst. Het plaatje is leuk maar ik moet mijn handen pijn doen om hem in te drukken. Inmiddels een aardige collectie van dit merk die super en soepel werken. Bij deze nog het onderhouds pakket van Vaessen geprobeerd in de hoop het probleem op te lossen maar helaas het blijft een letterlijk pijnlijke manier van ponsen. Ik zou hier graag contact over opnemen met Vaessen maar geen idee hoe. Verder echt top ponsen.
