Below is my previous review, in case somebody can find the actual "snap caps" I'm looking for. These were redesigned and have smaller rims making them useless for a rimfire. Nonetheless, I'm still leaving it as a 5 star review because I'm sure that they work fine as the anchors for which they were designed. This is coming from a Grandmaster ranked speed shooter. Anybody who has tried a .22lr snap cap knows that they are a phenomenal waste of money: $2 apiece, and they break the first time you drop a hammer on them, often to the point that the rim rips off and they can't be extracted with anything other than a barrel rod. These anchors can take multiple hits over time and work perfectly. I just bought my second pack of 100 after many years of use from the first pack. Highly recommended for the active rimfire shooter!

I saw a write up on this particular size item in a gun magazine for using them as "snap caps" for rim-fire in .22LR and .22WMR cartridges and I am rating this 5 stars for that purpose and cannot rate them for their intended use as ribbed plastic anchors because I have not used them for that purpose. They worked well in my Ruger Single Six and the Ruger MK II even feeding them using the magazine. They worked for both cylinders of my Single Six just fine which saves me a lot of money by not purchasing actual snap caps. The plastic rims do eventually get smashed down by the firing pin but when they get real flat I just toss them and insert a new ones. I bought the 100 pack which should last me for a long time, probably years! It's important that you get this particular size for use in your .22's - size 4-6-8 x 7/8" Happy trails.

I had an older box of the same anchors. Same model number and size. These are MUCH thinner and cheaper, They do not hold well and tear apart. The older box works fine. These are worthless. I threw the entire box in the trash. I never buy a Hillman product again.

I know that this anchor is the 'standard' that everyone uses for a snap cap .But... I was using some commercial plastic 22lr 'real' snap caps a week or 2 ago while working on one of my CZ 457s. I guess they were old, because the rim broke off (and was extracted) but the front half remained in the bbl. Not good. Luckily, I discovered this while trying to feed a live round. Thank goodness I didn't succeeded getting the live round chambered! So I bought these anchors. The design must have changed because the 'rim' portion is almost non-existent. While working on both a Ruger target 1022 and a Ruger Precision Rimfire, I noticed these anchors fit virtually flush with the bbl, and won't extract. For these rifles, I just went back to a fired case. Maybe these will work on rifles with tighter chambers (like the MTR) but a no-go in these two Rugers. I have a few more Ruger rimfires but have not tried them yet. I ordered another brand from another source, so we'll see. Edit: I've now tried these wall anchor 'snap caps' in 3 Ruger 22 rifles. In each case, the anchor went completely flush with the back of the chamber and will NOT extract. Today, I tried these in my Savage MK ll 22 BRJ. They fit better and WILL extract. The ones I bought from eBay won't even fit in any rifle. Lots of comments on this Hillman product and all recent buyers report the same thing; the 'rim' of the new production is VERY thin, despite the picture on here. Evidently these were an older production.

Not sure how to rate these since I'm not using them for their intended purpose. They don't cycle properly in my Browning Buckmark. 3 times out of 4, they get stuck in the breach instead of inserting into the barrel. I tried three different types of 22 snap caps for my Buckmark: - The Tipton 22 Rimfire Snap Cap. They are easy to load into the magazine and work once they are in the barrel, but 3 times out of 4 they don't cycle properly when you rack the slide. The old cap pops out as it should, but the new gets stuck diagonally in the breach instead of sliding into the barrel. This is very annoying for dry firing, and I do not recommend them. - The A-Zoom 22 LR Action Proving Dummy Rounds. These are made of aluminum and are explicitly marked as "not snap caps" and that they won't last long if you use them as snap caps, because the striker deforms the rim over time. The package says that they'll only last "4 or 5 hits" if you do that. That is not true, they last a lot longer than that. These are the only ones that I found that cycle properly in the Buckmark. - The Hillman Group 370326 Ribbed Plastic Anchor. Yes really. This is a plastic wall anchor that has exactly the dimensions of a 22. They work slightly worse than the Tipton 22, but they are extremely cheap and you can still use them as anchors if you don't like them as snap caps. Still, I would not recommend them since they get stuck in the breach all the time.

I bought these for one reason only, and that is so I could safely dry-fire my .22 rimfire pistols. They work perfect for that purpose, as they are the same size as a .22 LR cartridge. I have two semi-automatic .22 pistols, and I can even put one of these anchors in the magazine and rack it into the chamber just like you would a live round, then eject it after pulling the trigger. One of my pistols is Smith & Wesson's new SW22 Victory, and that gun is unique because it has an internal hammer. As such, when I want to store the gun, there is no way to release the tension on the hammer without dry-firing it. These anchors solve the problem. I put one of them in the magazine, rack it into the chamber and pull the trigger. The gun is now safely dry-fired, the hammer is released and the gun is ready to store until my next range trip.

I own a couple of .22LR handguns to have fun with the cheap .22LR ammo at the range. I read from some online firearms forums and the reviews here on Amazon that these 370326 yellow ribbed plastic anchors would work very good as inexpensive .22LR snap caps. I bought a pack of 100 to try and sure enough, they worked great with my Ruger SR22 and Phoenix HP22A. My guns fed and ejected these with no problems. Rimfire snapcaps don't last long so I was glad I found these anchors as they are so cheap to throw away after some "shots". But they're not bad at all as I could pull the trigger on each of them many times before I needed to replace it with a fresh one. I highly recommend these for use as .22LR snap caps.

You can buy 22 rimfire snap caps made for that purpose that cost too much and don't last very long, or you can buy these. They work great and last. I'm a firearms instructor and teach NRA Basic Rifle & Pistol courses with 22LR firearms. No surprise, I need reliable snap caps to protect the guns. I can't afford to keep replacing expensive snap caps. These anchors fill the need. They protect even my S&W target pistols that state "dry firing _will_ damage the pistol." Even better, they feed from the magazine reliably and eject just like a real cartridge. With these, I can load 5 "rounds" into a magazine (4 live + 1 anchor) and have my students practice misfire/hangfire drills - they can't tell whether it's the anchor in the chamber or a real cartridge with a problem. The only way I know is by counting the shots.

Seen various people recommend these for use as 22LR snap caps, but the ones I received are useless for that purpose. Actual 22lr rims (and proper snap caps) are about 1mm thick, but these are more like 0.5mm. Just enough in my bolt action to at least extract (so didn't get stuck), but the firing pin makes no mark on them indicating it's barely making contact thus defeating the point and not protecting the pin. You could hear a clear difference when used vs actual snap caps. I wasn't going to mark it down based on that, since it's not the intended use, but the product photos don't reflect reality. Looking at the rim vs total length in the product photos, the rim in the product photo is about 1mm. Perhaps they've changed the design to make that thinner and not updated the photos, or the thickness isn't consistent and varies between batches, either way it doesn't help anyone purchasing based on what is shown

Perfectly good product, just a bit smaller and lighter duty than expected vs pictures.

Le prix est passé de 9€ avec les frais de port à plus de 30€.... trois fois plus cher en peu de temps...
