I’ll start by confirming I got the 12 gallon version. I live in Central Florida and have a screened in patio which is what i bought this for and it works great. Before ordering, I read several reviews and the main issue that kept being mentioned was the quality of the ice packs. Because of the frequency of that issue being mentioned, and my having another need for them, I also ordered some additional Igloo packs since I was using it outdoors in the hot and humid Florida summer. The packs last about two hours before I replace them. I bought some smaller packs that I can put 3 in when swapping out with the packs received with the unit. I purchased three 2 packs of the Igloo Maxcold Ice Blocks, small size. Being outdoors with it, I need to swap them out more frequently allowing all of them to freeze properly. Since I use it on my patio, i push it to the door and bring the hose over to fill it up. I have no regrets after reading multiple reviews before the purchase and knowing about the possible ice pack issue. That allowed me to address it ahead of time. No doubt how and where you use it, and its environment, is going to impact how long the packs last. If something goes wrong, I’ll update this accordingly. 7/24 supplement - The price is dropping since Prime Days. Monitor it accordingly. Better deal now than when I bought it.

I live in Central Texas. It gets hot in the summer. This brings the temperature down to where it is tolerable. When I'm mowing the yard and I get too hot, I go sit in front of it and it cools me off. I recently owned a Portacool Cyclone 110. It was alright but it would only move the air out on one side. It was good for only one person it was aimed at. It was loud and I paid much more for it too. This cooler is far better. Much quieter and cools the air much better. The oscillating feature is really nice for keeping a larger area cool. It seems to cool the area much farther away from the unit than the Portacool did too. I am extremely satisfied with it and bought a second one to use in another location. Update 08/05/2026: This is the forth year I've been using these. Still going strong. Last year the pump slowed down on one of my coolers. I disassembled it and cleaned the inside. I must say, they do not make this an easy task. I found a video in Spanish that showed how to do it. Although I couldn't understand the Spanish, the video alone was enough to show how to do it. The cooling pads inside get caked with mineral deposits from hard water and make it less efficient in cooling, in my opinion. The pump inside sits in a porous sponge like material that gets caked with mineral deposits making it less efficient allowing water to pass through to the pump. After cleaning the filter and pump, it pumped the water again like it was supposed to do. At the time I cleaned mine, there were no replacement cooling pads available for purchase on Amazon. I cleaned the inside mineral deposits on all the parts with Sanivac then rinsed them well. I placed the cooling pads in a large mixing pan and soaked them in white vinegar for several hours. After soaking them, I rinsed them well and put them back inside. The one I cleaned cooled the temperature down 4 degrees lower than my other one that I did not clean. Even after four years of use, they still cool the outside temperature down by at least ten degrees. The replacement pads are now available on Amazon. I purchased a set for each of my coolers. I run these everyday during the summer months here in Central Texas. I love mine. I don't understand all the negative reviews. When mine finally do quit working, I will not hesitate buying them again. I also have a large metal type swamp cooler in my shop purchased at the same year that I bought the Vagkri's. It still cools well too but has already started rusting out on the outside. I paid much more for it than I did the Vagkri's. It might last another year before it starts leaking water out the rusted out holes. Being made of plastic has it's advantages.

It worked great for a few days then it stopped pulling the water up to the top. My water pump went out only a few days later. The customer service was great they sent me a new replacement for free. So far it’s great. I will update if it goes out soon again. I would like them to use a bigger stronger water pump. On my broken one I purchased a 100 watt pump and a remote control outlet to turn on and off the pump it cools a lot more. I use one for my master room and one in my garage. Usually my garage is 100+f. So this helps keep it cooler. I’m in Arizona and it’s always hot.

Worked for one day and then stopped pumping water. Looked up the issue and learned it’s a common issue, so tried the trouble shooting suggestions, one being to rock the unit back and forth with water filled to max… this did not work it just keeps making a weird hissing noise but water will not pump to the top so I’m reading that this means it is a faulty pump. So it’s essentially just a fan now - returning and looking into a window unit that will require no water.

This swamp cooler arrived and right away we loved how it was not heavy and very nice looking. Unfortunately after about two weeks we had an issue with it, however after emailing the support team at Vagkri I received an immediate response and they are replacing it. This is what I call great customer service. You can tell they care about their customers and want to make sure they address and resolve any concerns. Happy to be getting it replaced and getting to have a cooler again to enjoy out on the patio. I highly recommend this product.

The product is really quite. I purchased one to try out in my shop for my employees to see how they liked it. The unit definitely cools the air. In the humid southern climate (South of Atlanta) it did cool the air and was better than a fan blowing hot air, the cooler air did make a difference. Employee put an ice pack in the top of the unit and changed it out at lunch. Now speaking of the ice packs. They are worthless as far as quality goes. People in other reviews complained about it and I didn't think to much about it. However, after purchasing a total of 3 of these units within 3 days of each other every single ice pack for all three units has busted in the freezer after the 3rd or 4th time being froze. I am going to call the MFG and see what they say about it. I have other ice packs that I can use and will keep all 3 units.. But the reviews about the ice packs (they come with 2 each). (I got a total of 6 ice packs, and all but one has bust). all of them busted at different locations.

My husband has a 25 year old, 1500 CFM, box fan style portable evaporative cooler that is actually a tad more efficient than this evaporative cooler. (His hypothesis: the honeycomb pad style in this cooler vs. the traditional wood excelsior pad he uses in his old box unit is not as efficent. (Over the years, he has tried them all and those inexpensive wood excelsior pads win every time.) Nevertheless, he thinks this unit is not all that bad with regards to evaporative cooler function. It was only a two degree output difference ( Both coolers were tested at the same time, using the same water temperature, on the same day, on high fan.) That being said; the problem for us with this cooler is not it's evaporative cooling efficiency, it is the fill valve and the hose connection port / tank wall. Because the tank wall appears to be quite thin / un-reinforced where the fill valve port is, thus resulting in excessive flex / stress to the plastic tank wall, my husband is very leary about moving the unit while the hose is attached. As it is, to alleviate nearly ten degrees of flex, my husband uses a short 2x4 post to support the hose fitting end when the unit is stationary. Above and beyond that, once my husband ultimately got the supplied hose adapter fitting to stop leaking, by using his own hose bib washers, he came to find that the fill valve had stopped functioning properly. (Overfilling — not good!) At that point my husband wanted to send the unit back for a refund. But seeing how he discarded the original box, that of which is apparently required for return, we are apparently stuck with this cooler. I have know clue as to when, or where he is going to find that time, but he assures me that when he has time he will remedy the issues with the cooler. Until then, it's a manual fill only. Go figure, my husband's main attraction to this cooler was the hose connection/ auto shut off fill valve features. Oh, and lest I forget, it really would have been nice to have had some AAA batteries sent with the remote control. Room for improvement! Update! My husband has remedied the issue with the fill valve. Apparently, when he was attempting to get the hose bib fitting to stop leaking, the plastic float valve / pipe nipple rotated 180 degrees. In addition; seeing how the plastic tank wall is rather thin, and is not reinforced where the pipe nipple attaches to the hose adapter, my husband has switched out our HD hose for one of those light weight flex hoses. Besides that; It would be nice for more than one drain plug to be provided with the unit. The small rubber plug is not attached to the cooler. So, if that little thing happens to slip out of your hand and bounce it self into the bushes, well, I think you get the picture. Luckily we found ours! As for the remote control, well, after having rounded up some AAA batteries, the remote control feature does function and operate as it should. With in a few short days of having posted the initial review, the organization reached out to me. My first impression is that this organization truly cares about customer satisfaction. That in itself is worth a star, so I have increased the overall rating for this product to three stars. Only time will tell if this product is worthy of additional stars, as long term product durability and enduring commitment to customer satisfaction have yet to be determined. At this point, my husband and I both agree that the product could use some small but very beneficial improvements. As for my husband wanting to return the cooler, well, now, other than wishing he had purchased the cooler for ten cents on the dollar, which is pretty much what he wishes he could do on every purchase he makes, my husband says that he has NO BUYERS REMORSE. As a matter of fact, he has been hinting at purchasing another one; for the right price of course, which of course is totally subjective, but is still, nevertheless, in his world, a subjective value of there about sixteen dollars—keep dreaming honey!

Firstly, this cooler is not a refrigerated unit with a compressor so it cannot be expected to perform the same as a typical residential AC unit. With water added and on "cool" setting, this cooler works great, especially if you are in a direct path of the cool breeze. I am using it in an insulated 3 car garage for several hours at a time, when outside temp 90F or greater. I am pleased with the performance. I am definitely staying cool while working at a bench. Other advantages: 1. low energy cost vs actual AC unit 2. can use the included refrigerated cooling packs to improve cooling 3. easy to maneuver/portable. 4. A power cord wrap is appreciated on the back. Other: 1. cooling effect not as great if you are outside the direct line of airflow. 2. Use of water will raise the humidity of the space cooled. 3. On high fan speed, noise may make it difficult for an on-line video meeting (not deal breaker imo) Final: recommend if it's not practical to create an exhaust vent opening for a traditional AC unit or if you want to avoid energy costs of a typical AC unit.

I received this swamp cooler approximately 1 month ago which I placed in an outdoor greenhouse that is 16 1/2'W x 60'L and approximately 17'H. Shortly after setting up the cooler my area underwent a heat wave and for the duration I used the cooler to maintain a reasonable interior temperature. For the hottest day (approx 36 Degrees Celsius) I had it on level 3 and it was able to keep the greenhouse temperature to below 29 degrees Celsius which , given the significant air movement generated by the unit, was much cooler than what had been the case in prior years. I suspect that, used in a similar space but with a normal height ceiling (8 to10 feet) the cooling generated by the unit would have been significantly better as the overall space being cooled with have been significantly smaller. I intend on purchasing another unit once these are again available in my area and would certainly recommend it.

When I first got the AC I was shocked as to how big it was as I was expecting something the size of a garbage can. After un packing it and setting it up (which didn't take long at all) I turned on the unit and was met with the coldest breeze I had felt all summer, I was very happy with it and then my landlord/friend pushed a button and the AC kicked in and the air got cold real quick. I have been using the AC in my room when I sleep and in my game room when I play VR or just want to play a game or enjoy a movie. This is the BEST thing I have ever gotten and in this heat right now with temperatures here in Alberta Canada almost in the mid 30s early 40s range...this is a godsend of a device. I Do not regret purchasing and if I had more cash I would have bought a second one. Easy to use and the big fan blows nice cold air outwards and the the huge reservoir tank keeps things cool for a good 5 hours or more. Be aware this unit is not to be used in huge rooms as its not quite that strong to cool that room quickly, this unit is best used in a small room or bedroom or even a medium sized theater or game room. Works best with ice packs and cold water from a bathtub run into a small sized pail or ice cream bucket. Not certain how it would work outdoors at is does come with a garden hose attachment. Energy wise I will find out if this unit uses up a lot of electricity or not when the bill comes in that is one thing more people never talk about when doing a review. Still a fantastic Portable AC that for the price asking is a good investment on a truly hot summer.

I live in a warm Condo and this is perfect and works excellent. It cools my place and works so good. Once you fill it up with water and DON’T EVER OVER FLOW the water or it will spill through the sides. Use it as a cool fan but when you want it ice cold put a freezer pack in the top and WOW does it get colder and right away. I love this unit and near a window or not it works fantastic. Me gustó porque refresca bien el área y es fácil de mover gracias a sus rueditas. El control remoto ayuda bastante para no estar levantándose, y el tamaño es ideal , patio o cuarto grande. Se siente práctico y funcional.
