Worth it!
I couldn't pass up on this Premium Finish Bumblebee Optimus. I love the design and I think this mold is better than the ROTB Optimus. Plus it looks great next to the Concept Art Megatron. If you can find it I think it's worth the extra cost. Certainly vastly superior paint apps and tampos compared to the sparse Buzzworthy Bumblebee ROTB Optimus.

Great details and size
Paint job is really good also really good details. Such a detailed model can be made even more beautiful with additional painting processes. It has become one of my favorite models and definitely Transformers lovers should not miss it.

Fantastic Optimus and Boxed Beautifully
This is a collectors item I chose to buy for my 4 year old son to play with and it has held up great to his roughness. The main packaging came inside another black transformers box which was cool and I'm sure something that would excite collectors. Both boxes did have small blemishes on the corners; however, you have to understand these were in commercial centers like Walmart / Target at some point. These were not 1st horded by collectors who treated the box like it was the product inside.Taking Optimus out and looking at all the details I could find no true fault.

Very Disappointing in Person, Nothing like the picture.
The media could not be loaded. I should start this review by saying that what you see in the picture is not what you get. It’s what you should get. Not even the figure on the box-art is what you get. Comparing the figure that came in the box to the figure on the box there’s immediately huge differences in quality. This figure is shockingly disappointing in so many ways.First off the nice clean figure you see is absolutely not what you get, instead they swap the impressive arm joint paint with a bronze circle for gross looking grey splatter on the forearm instead, they also add a completely unnecessary over the head grey band that they have taken the liberty of not including in the product picture. They also neglected to actually add any paint to the inside flap of the leg for the piping that is included in the picture or any of the leg paint really. Don’t be fooled by the other dozens of places the product picture would have you believe are painted around the legs, the gas cans on both sides of the truck are not silver but the same dark grey as the rest of the leg, as is the small piece the flips up and down next to them. The smoke stacks are also not light grey but dark grey, I actually support that choice though. The quality of the “Premium Finish” paint on this truck is garbage, there are even places where they chose to paint one part and completely gave up on it when that same “piece” transfers over to another part of the figure. Nothing about this figure is premium. This figure is so poorly painted and completely different from the product picture that I actually thought I had been scammed. It wasn’t until I had looked up a video on how to transform it that I was greeted by the comforting fact that I wasn’t scammed. This figure just really sucks that bad.I do however have a lot of good things to say about the truck mode. It is very impressive especially in comparison to the original figure. Honestly the truck mode is the strongest mode for this figure. It’s so good I actually only have two complaints about it and they’re very minor. 1. The wheels are different. This is a problem that plagued the original figure too, for some reason the front two wheels have different hubcaps then the back four. This is incredibly minor though and you wouldn’t even notice until it was pointed out to you. 2. The painted side windows. I understand since there isn’t much to see inside but the fact the two front windows are actually transparent and the two side windows are painted on is just gross.Overall, this sucks. It’s a soulless effortless excuse to spend an extra quarter on cheap minimum effort repaints of a popular figure so they can sell more of them for a higher price. You are 100X better off buying a third party figure for half the price of less that actually cares about their quality and ability to put in some effort.Bonus: it’s true that maybe the product photo is concept art and that they decided to change how it looked. But I argue that they should have changed the picture then. Why are we subject to VASTLY superior test photos rather then photos of the actual item.

Premium Finish Optimus Review
Came in great condition and is one of the best Optimus Primes possibly the most accurate live action generation one designs we will ever see in toy form. I am happy to add this to my collection as I see it going up in value someday especially with Transformers Rise of The Beasts coming to movie theatres near you soon.

Better, cheaper than the standard edition
Seeing how the standard version is going for over $100 and this version has better paint apps? It's really a no brainer. Structurally, it's the same mold and the same toy with the same articulation, accessories, and transformation process, but it looks so much nicer and is cheaper.Besides the Earthrise Prime, this is my favorite version of Optimus; he just looks so freaking awesome!

Fantastically done, with a few caveats..
Having missed the original run of SS-38, I figured this would be a good substitute, and it turned out quite good! Plastic feels nice and sturdy, paint is on point, and I'd say he's a pretty playable figure. However, there are some minor issues that hold it back from being perfect. The hips are a tad loose going out to the side, and the shin-panels don't really stay together all that well. Overall, though, I quite enjoy it, and I definitely recommend this figure to anyone interested! Provide you have the money for it or, better yet, you get it on a discount. $76 ain't cutting it Amazon. I'm glad I snagged it on its sale

Engineering Marvel
This is a fantastic Transformer. I come from the original cartoon generation and am partial to that look. While this isn't exactly that, I still think it looks fantastic and is an excellent representation of Optimus from the recent Bumblebee movie. The engineering that went into making this is absolutely amazing. This is, however, not a toy for a small child. The transformation is very involved.
