I Love Mushroom Coffee! Here are my Honest Thoughts…
I recently decided to give Mud Wtr a try after seeing all the hype online. Here are my honest thoughts: 1) Taste: If you enjoy earthy, herbal flavors, you might like Mud Wtr. It has a unique taste that's unlike coffee but can be interesting for those who appreciate a more natural, chai-like experience. However, for me, the taste was too bland and earthy, almost like drinking a mix of dirt and spices. Even with sweeteners and milk, I struggled to finish a cup. It just doesn’t have that satisfying flavor profile I crave in the morning. 2) Ingredients and Dosage: They state that each serving contains 2,000mg of mushroom extract, with 500mg per strain, and they’re transparent about it, so they pass in this category. 3) Quality: This part is extremely important because it’s crucial to understand the level of quality of the mushroom extract you are paying for. Mud Wtr uses mushroom extract from mycelial biomass, which is the root-like structure of a fungus (mycelium) grown on a grain or other substrate. Unlike fruiting bodies, which are the actual mushrooms, mycelial biomass often includes the substrate it's grown on, resulting in a less potent product with lower concentrations of beneficial compounds. While each serving is 2,000mg, the level of potency is about 50-60% lower than what you get with extracts made from 100% fruiting bodies. 4) Price and Value: At nearly $49 for a relatively small canister, I expected more in terms of flavor, quality, and benefits. When compared to my other favorite, Lucid Super Coffee — which contains 2,000mg of mushrooms plus 3,000mg of nootropics (superfuel for your brain) for around the same price — you’re getting much more for your money. Mud Wtr’s effects are pretty mild, but I do still enjoy it occasionally and think it’s a decent product that will stay in my cabinet to keep functional mushrooms in my life. However, Lucid has won my heart (at least for now) because I can actually FEEL the effects. My best advice is to pay attention to the dosage and quality of mushrooms, ensure brands are completely transparent about their ingredients, and always read the label!

This product is underrated
Easily a 5 star product. I think this product is underrated. My only complaint is that it is pricey, but so is good coffee beans and I was spending at least 40 bucks on good beans a week. I started noticing how much coffee was making my anxiety worse throughout the day. I have a job where I have to perform at very high levels and coffee anxiety was killing my performance. I love the morning ritual of coffee, so mud wtr has been a game changer substitute. I get my morning ritual and feel way better through out the day. No more crashes and no more coffee jitters. I love the taste and yes there is a subtle grit. The expectation is that this is not coffee, it’s a mushroom chai masala. I use oatly oatmilk barista edition and 1/2 tablespoon of maple syrup. You’ll want a good frother machine to mix it well and as a bonus it heats it up at the same time. I use a Nespresso frother. Add oatmilk and maple syrup first, let the frother get some momentum then slowly add the 1/2 tablespoon mud wtr, let it mix it and then add the other half tablespoon of mud wtr. Voilà, you have a creamy frothy morning cup of excellence.

Taste lives up to its name, and BUGS!!!
So, I was wanting to ditch coffee. Saw this on TikTok thought I’d give it a try. After using for about a week I realized very quickly this is not for me. It tastes mostly like turmeric. The product does not stay suspended in liquid very well so you must constantly stir or you end up with “mud” at the bottom of your cup. Which for as expensive as this product is, if you just wash the remnants down the sink, then you are just wasting your money. As far as feeling a boost of energy or mind clarity I didn’t receive any of that. I’m sure there are some benefits to the ingredients used in this product just as any other herb, spice or mineral that the modern human tends to lack in their diet. But as far as being a coffee replacing beverage brace yourself for disappointment. Maybe if you mix this into a poundcake or a bread and ate that for breakfast you would be better off. IDK On another note. I did not finish the can that I bought, but I am too tight to throw the leftovers away, figuring maybe I would use it in something else. Then, as I was cleaning out my coffee station I opened the lid, which is airtight by the way, and discovered bugs that had hatched! I was quite surprised! Now, my guess would be that they are not harmful. Weevil like little buggers. I have had this happen to me in other spices before. Something in the pepper family I believe, and I am a country girl so things like this don’t bother me too bad. But my advice, if you don’t like the way this tastes toss in the trash ASAP. Because if you’re squeamish at all, this will definitely bug you out! Lol.

IMO, tastes terrible. Isn't better than diy mix. Expensive.
I wanted to try mudwtr for a while, but was scared of the complaints re: unauthorized charges & poor/non-existent customer service. So I tried Amazon. I've been diy-ing mushroom coffee, buying powdered mushroom, protein powder & shaking them into my morning coffee. I was intrigued by the description, "if chai & cacao had a baby", but mudwtr's flavor is pretty bad imo. When I think of chai, I think of the warming, "sweet" spices like cinnamon & ginger. But the taste of mudwtr is turmeric & cardamom, both of which kind of make me sick [turmeric tastes bitter -- in a bad way -- to me & cardamom gives me a sick headache]. There's a texture of cacao, but i suppose my palate isn't sophisticated enough to detect the flavor of cacao. I'm guessing the taste is why mudwtr also sells sweetener & creamer. As far as health benefits, I have NOT had a decline in GI tract health, mental acuity, or general energy; so their adaptogens are doing a good job. But I haven't seen an increase either. My diy mix is <1/2 the cost, & I really like the taste. I'm heading back to the grocery store for my homemade stuff 😋 PS you don't need the frothing whisk. You don't even need a shaker ball. Just burn 10 kcal shaking your bottle vigorously for a few seconds.

Good, just not for me
The prep instructions call for equal parts of water and milk. Oh, it's good, but I like a more high-test beverage in the morning. I prefer Ryze; sorry.

Almost Dessert-Like Flavor - Follow the Recipe Closely
The first try was horrible....because I didn't follow the recipe and tried to drink it with only water. We drink our coffee black, so I didn't think to add milk or cream to it, but it is absolutely needed. The recipe: 3/4 cup hot water, 3/4 cup (oat) milk, 1 tbsp of honey, 1 tbsp of Mudwtr, and my preference, a small shot of heavy whipped cream. Use the frother and it will taste delicious. We are really hooked on it now. If you are expecting something like Nesquik, this is not going to be your cup of "tea". The different spices really bring out an excellent flavor along with the sweetness of the honey and cacao. The health benefits are great - a coffee alternative to feel good about. Almost dessert-like. UPDATE: I have also learned over the past months that cacao loses its nutritional value at 104 degrees Fahrenheit and honey at 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Therefore, it is important to keep Mudwtr from reaching a higher temperature. It compromises the taste a bit, but in order to enjoy the full nutritional benefit, it's important to keep it at or below 95 degrees.

Delicious
This is actually quite delicious. I mixed according to directions, adding in my favorite liquid at the end, I actually added a splash of coffee, topped with a little squirt of Redi Whip and a Drizzle of Caramel. This is my new favorite FRU FRU drink! I don't know exactly how it's going to make me "feel" but I do know that the taste is fantastic. Texture isn't bad either, maybe a slight chalkiness with the texture at first but within a few minutes of mixing, even that was barely noticeable.

The Creamy Iced MUD/WTR Recipe That Made Me Love It
I am so happy with MUD/WTR, this drink has officially become a favorite. I’ll be honest: once I figured out the right way to mix it, it went from “good” to seriously enjoyable. Now it feels like a café-style treat I actually look forward to. Here’s my go-to recipe that makes it rich, smooth, and a little indulgent: My Iced MUD/WTR Recipe: ¾ cup milk, warmed 1 tablespoon MUD/WTR mushroom powder ½ tablespoon Ghirardelli salted caramel ½ tablespoon Ghirardelli chocolate ½ tablespoon raw local honey Froth everything together until well mixed. For a fun, fancy touch, squeeze a little extra chocolate and caramel around the inside of your cup. Fill the cup about ¾ full with crushed ice, pour the mushroom mixture over the ice, give it a quick froth to blend, and enjoy. The result is creamy, lightly sweet, chocolatey, and incredibly satisfying, without the jitters of coffee. If you’re on the fence about MUD/WTR, I highly recommend experimenting with how you prepare it. This recipe completely won me over. ☕✨

So Delicious!
Kay, I bought this on a whim because I've been trying to get off coffee. I don't like some of the side effects I get with coffee. I usually have a coffee in the morning, then I crave one in the afternoon, and then I have trouble sleeping and get heartburn. So I saw this on U-tube and thought, hmm, why not try it? It still has minimal caffeine, and the purity and taste are amazing without the crash. I love chai lattes; I have to say that when mixed with milk, it is top-notch yum! Not to mention the health benefits of the variety of mushrooms in it. The spices are perfectly blended. I was worried it would taste funny, but it doesn't. Very tasty; I highly recommend it.

Great Stuff
Outstanding product. The miniature rechargeable electric whisk is outstanding. I wish I would’ve had one of these years ago.

Not great
Sorry if some people might like this but it’s not a great replacement for coffee. It makes me feel ill and nauseous. They won’t let me return, so I dunno if it’s just off or if it’s just me. But I don’t recommend. I would go for matcha or a black tea.

Mud water
Tastes good sure it's healthy, but is not an alternative to coffee. Tastes like a hot chocolate

Damaged Goods
The product is great! It's unfortunate that the delivery service wasn't. The delivery guy tossed the package on the porch. The container was dented, luckily not damaged. I will purchase the product again.
