I liked it because it is easy to use, and the instructions are quite clear—even for someone with no experience with jewelry. So far, I think it works very well. This is my first time using it, as I’ve bought several pieces of jewelry for my collection. It turns out the diamond immediately registers as red, and the moissanite—as expected—also registers as red, though not all the way to the top. With another large stone I have—actually from a pair of old earrings where I didn't even know what the stone was—the light didn't move, nor did it make the recognition sound. So, I think it really works. Simple to use, store, and reuse.

I purchased this diamond tester to verify a few pieces of jewelry, and it has performed well so far. The readings have been consistent and accurate, which gave me confidence in the results. The included instructions were helpful and mostly easy to understand, even for someone without prior experience using a diamond tester. It was straightforward to start testing stones. My only complaint is the battery cover. It does not feel very secure and seems like it could come loose more easily than it should. It doesn't affect the tester's performance, but it does make the overall construction feel a little less polished. Overall, this is a useful and accurate tool that gets the job done, especially for the price.

fix the battery holder damnit, a bunch of reviews are saying this and the instructions are bare minimum but I figured it out. I wouldn't consider it the best there is no secure place to put the battery. it legit has no secure holder the connectors are loosely just sitting inside as you see in other review photos. I at first assumed it got that in shipping but... WRONG it arrives this way naturally with no damage to packaging. soon as you place the battery in the unit will lose power soon as the battery shifts out of position of the connectors due to it having no placement in the area whatsoever. you just place the battery in and angle it right enough for the lights to stay on. as far as accuracy it definitely can tell glass from diamond and moissanite. it definitely feels cheaply made like you could drop it and it'll break or step on it accidentally and break. due to the battery situation the functionality is lacking and I feel like you could just find better value for your buck where quality of the consumer is put in the front.

This is very sensitive to temp which makes it kind of hard to calibrate. However, once it is calibrated, it seems to work well on everything but earrings (probably due to stud blocking electricity flow). I tested on known diamonds (rings/bracelets) and known fakes and it was accurate only after calibration (meaning use a known diamond to get it to temp and accurately reporting it as a diamond). I would not use this without calibrating each time you use it as it is very easy to get a false reading and that could be a costly mistake. (I did not test using loose stones and I would not trust this for that at all as it seems very sensitive).

I started testing everything I had found a pair of gold earrings sold to me by a never used to before jewelry shop, and found what I thought was diamonds was not, but it had been three years for since I bought him just tells me never to go back to that store again so yes, I like my tester
