Awesome Giant Leakproof Insulated Cup*
TLWR; Great cup that works as stated, unless you get a faulty lid, which Hydrapeak will warranty, or you can play the exchange game with Amazon until you get a good one. Get one if this cup fits your needs, and if you can deal with a little adversity if needed! ---------------------------------------------------------- I'll start by saying that my go to insulated cup is my trusty Bubba Hero XL that has lasted years of abuse and is still going strong and I will always recommend it. The lid is leakproof and I use a silicone straw, but to close it requires pulling the straw out (not always an option) or shoving the straw into the cup before closing and having to take the lid off to retrieve it. Other features that it has that I like are a silicone/rubber bottom and an open bottom handle (which I use to hang it on my work cart or even a pant pocket). I was looking for a larger cup with all the same features as the Bubba AND also a built in straw that's still leakproof. This has it all, but the reviews make it seem like it's too good to be true. The first one I purchased works very well. It's the bare steel model and it came with a small dent in it's side. I can't knock Hydrapeak for that, because we all know the randomness/barrenness of Amazon handling and packaging, lol. It is only a little larger than the Bubba, and it's mostly in the bottom diameter which means it'll fit in less cupholders than the Bubba. It fits in my car's cupholder just fine. I decided that if the dent didn't compromise the insulation, I'd keep it. My first test was filling it up 7/8's full of tap water, remembering to pop the sippy end as I installed it (remember, ANY Leakproof lid from ANY manufacturer NEEDS to be vented when installed) and leaving it upside down on a silicone drying mat for an hour to check its leakproof-ness. Verdict, 100% Leakproof. Second, for insulation effectiveness, I filled it 1/3 of ice and 1/2 of tap water (leaving 1/6 of the cup free), installing the lid and set it on the counter for 24 hours. It still had a little bit of ice left after that, so with proper cooling (chilling the interior of the cup before adding ice and refrigerated liquid) this cup should easily keep your drink cold for the claimed 34 hours. 👍 Now we come to the dreaded straw. When I first had the cup in hand, I flipped it up and took a pull. It felt like sucking on a straw against my hand, a tight vacuum. I noticed that the silicone vent was real tiny. Popping the sippy lid released the vacuum, so I said, "not a big deal if it helps the straw work properly." After testing the leakproof-ness, I flipped the straw and took another pull and it worked. The vacuum effect had almost vanished, only noticable when you flip the sippy lid open. When I finish a cup, the vacuum returns. None of this is a deal breaker for me. Built-in flip straws are very uncommon in cup lids. Most adult drinking vessels with them are bottles and that's not what people who are looking at this cup are looking for. If you get one built like mine, you shouldn't be disappointed. BUT if you don't get one like mine... * Here's the asterisk. I bought a second one for my mother, in the Rainbow color. The only thing I initially noticed different was the rubbery coating used on it. Has a great feel and seems durable. The next day I got a call from her telling me the straw wasn't working! So I stopped by to look at it. After close examination, I discovered that there are 2 versions of the 2 way lid. In picture 1, my lid has a large gasket that wraps around the 'nozzle' area for the straw which actually protrudes into the cup deeper and comes with a shorter straw. The rainbow cup lid in picture 2 has a small donut shaped gasket that had dislodged along the way. The flipper end didn't look like it was seated correctly as well. Even getting the gasket in place didn't correct it. It still didn't work. So it was time to contact Hydrapeak for a new lid. As I sent word for a replacement with Hydrapeak, I ordered a third cup. I know, crazy, but Amazon has an amazing return policy, so why not find out how bad it can be ASAP? Well, the second rainbow came with the same small gasket lid, but everything seemed installed correctly and it worked just like my first one did. Hydrapeak did contact me back, apologized and said they'd send me a replacement. We'll see how long that takes and I'll update this if and when I get the replacement lid or if there are any other issues. ****Update**** Received the replacement lid very quickly. They said they'd send me shipping info first, but it just showed up a week after the correspondence. It is the same style as my first one. Hydrapeak, you rock! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My Favorite Cup EVER
I got one of these as a gift 3 years ago and finally decided to buy a new one because I had cracked the lid on the other. This cup IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!! I love that it has a straw (plus an extra), but my favorite thing about it is it keeps water cold FOREVER. I haven’t actually tested how long, but I’ve had it sit all day or overnight and it is still cold. So it’s great on a hot summer day because even though it’s blazing hot, I still have constant cold water. I take this thing everywhere as well (or I did, I also got a smaller version of this brand so I take it now if it’s a short trip) also the color is one of my favorite colors, and it has a nice texture to it. I think this cup is amazing quality since it lasted me years, especially for the price. I should state that I never put mine in the dishwasher, I’m not sure if it’s dishwasher safe or not, I just tend to keep my favorite cups out of it so they don’t get damaged over time. One thing I should state though, it doesn’t fit in all cup holders. It doesn’t fit in any cup holders in my car, and only fits in one in my spouses car. That hasn’t been terrible for me though since it doesn’t leak so I just keep it in my seat or the passenger seat (unless the lid is cracked, hence why I replaced it)

Love this but one flaw
I love this design for the size (40 oz), the attached handle, the built-in straw-flip coffee lid, and the taper to fit in cup holders. Because of the tight seal, U need to open both lid ports to put the lid on. The one flaw I wish I could fix is that because the lid is a push on, it has been bumped or pushed off when in my bag. The ports in the lid do not leak but when the lid gets pushed off in the bag, it spills. If it were a screw on or better yet, had clips to hold it on, then it would be truly leak free. I had to sew a cloth holder into my bag to keep it upright and the lid out of the bag to protect it from being pushed off. Would prefer to have a way to anchor the lid so I can toss it into the bag and not worry. Also the straw port is tight so would not pop open but the coffee port could technically pop open so it would be smart to position suggested clips to hold the lid so that one also holds the coffee port closed. THAT would be a perfect design! Please send me one of the improved design when U finish (lol).

THIS IS THE BEST ONE AND HERE IS WHY
1. Its temperature control is superior. It’s WAY BETTER than the high profile company associated with these things that sounds like an NHL trophy. I guess it’s because that in addition to the insulated steel, it has some kind of rigid layer on the outside that has to be thicker or something. Really keeps stuff cold/hot. 2. Its lid doesn’t screw on, rather it plugs into the top, quite snugly. If you’re like me, you might like the spout slightly offset to help prevent spillages when reaching for and drinking ice water in the night. Can’t control where the spout goes precisely with a screw top. But you can with this one. You can make the spout sit wherever you want it to. It’s such a game changer for me. It’s also way easier to pop the top out if you want to eat the ice in a cold beverage. Unscrewing a top is a royal PITA. 3. The spout has a more controlled pour that both keeps me from chugging too fast, but also (for reasons I don’t understand) distributes beverages better inside the mouth and quenches thirst better. Sounds weird, but it’s true. 4. I’ve owned multiple different brands—including super expensive ones—but this one is the best, hands down. Whoever designed this thing sat down, took their time, and really took into account a bunch of variables, which always impresses me. 5. It just can’t be beaten for the money. FACTS. I seldom give bad reviews, but the good reviews I give are because I’m so satisfied with a product, and this cup certainly met that metric with ease.

So pretty!
I love the look of this cup! So pretty. So far it's working great; no leaks, straw has really good flow, rubber on the bottom keeps it from slipping and it's a solid, sturdy cup. The handle is strong and I have no worries that it will break off. It's 40 ounces so it will get a little weight to it when full which could make holding it by the handle a little challenging if you have weak wrists but I don't find it to be a problem. One concern I have is that the leak proof lid just pushes in instead of screwing down. The seal is a rubber ring around the plastic lid and while it's working fine for now I worry that over time all wear of taking the lid on and off will wear down the rubber ring. I will be paying attention and if it starts to leak I'll update the review with how long it took for that to happen. It also does a really good job of keeping my water cold. I always add ice because I hate tepid water and even after the ice melts my water stays cold for a good while. It's not as good at it as one of the enclosed water bottles (like a Bubba bottle) but it still does pretty good. I use mine around the house so it meets my needs but I do take my Bubba bottle with me in the car. That thing can sit in a hot car and still have ice in it after a few hours but this cup will not do that, probably due to the type of lid. Overall I'm pleased with it.

Hard for weak hands to get off lid
This is a lovely tumbler. Nice and sturdy. It's heavy when filled. I gave it three starts only because when I put the lid on tight, I can't get it back off! I had to have my brother get it off for me the first few times I used it. Then I just didn't put it all the way on on the side I didn't drink from. Maybe it loosens up after its been used for a while :(

Ultimate roadie for the pragmatic non-sheeple
You know what's gross about a Stanley tumbler aside from the weird conformity? The straw is exposed all the time so your spit is flying everywhere and everything else is sticking to your straw. Consider that in an Insta perfect world. Germs are everywhere no matter how pretty. I cannot do it. I also spill stuff all the time. It's a no-go for me. This Hydrapeak tumbler is the best. Does the straw become detached inside occasionally. Yes - it's not a big deal at all. Will liquid shoot out of the straw if you put the lid on without popping open the other side of the lid - yes, it will, also not a big deal to pop it open and close it once the lid is on. It does not leak even if held upside down as long as the lid is on properly and the straw and opening are properly closed. I have no problem hooking it over the side of my tote with my computer inside. I am also famous for jacking up the bottom of stainless steel drink containers. I have yet to destroy this one in the past four months I've had it. I refer to mine as my "chin checker" because I would have no problem smacking someone in the mouth with it if I had to. I am back to purchase a second one. Be different with similar but even better features. Get it.

Ice the next day
I use it every day, all day. Gotta meet those water goals! lol I followed the instruction of another buyer and was able to pop the spout out to wash the silicone gasket. Put it back together no problem. If I leave ice in it overnight it's still there in the morning. Compared to that other stupidly popular 40oz mug.... This one is cheaper, leak proof and the handle is solid. No it doesn't fit in the cup holder all the way, but I jam it in a little bit and it's close enough lol 😂

Lid pops open and it spills/leaks. Lid came covered in scratches
I ordered this mug super excited with all the positive reviews. But to my surprise, when I finally received the right mug (ordered mauve first but received bubblegum pink, then reordered the ice color) the lid keeps popping open, and it is not spill or leak proof. (As shown in the video, please excuse my dishes) But common, your main sell for me was the spill and leak proof advertisement. Also after removing the stickers on the lid I noticed it was filled with scratches. Like terribly scratched. (Also shown in the photos) Another thing that wasn’t great to see was a price tag with the price of $24.99 on it, when I paid about $70. I feel scammed. Honestly I will be requesting a return because this product does not meet its expectations regardless of all the positive feedback. (I also examined the lid, no seals are in the wrong spot, the lid just pops off repeatedly with the pressure I suppose fo my hot chocolate, but it’s supposed to be able to withstand the temperature for a hot drink) Just not happy. Edit: I realized after sharing the video, that the lid was already starting to pop off when I started to show it being tilted, when I started it was closed, with the heat I suppose it made the lid push off, but that is a constant thing. I simply can’t get the lid to stay on. I tried doing that tilt test repeatedly to.
