Micro Clover - 1/4 LB

I live in zone 7 and have been looking for a lawn substitute. Last year I experimented with white clover and though I like the clover, it does get tall enough so that it needs to be mowed. This year I experimented with this micro clover in an area that's about 2 ft wide and 7 feet long. It's been about 6 weeks since I seeded and it's growing in just as I hoped it would. It's low to the ground, very pretty, and so far no white flowers. I plan to use it in both the front and back yard. I'm glad I tried it.

Like a couple other reviewers, this reached a MUCH bigger height for me than the 2-inch-or-rarely-6-inch claim. It's much taller than your standard clover found in many lawns.I planted in the spring and the germination was very good - I can certainly give it points for that - and it's growing well in the mix of sun and shade it gets. My soil is also heavy in clay, so I was glad it seemed to take well despite that challenge. It reached its expected height probably inside of 6 weeks, but once summer kicked off with additional heat and moisture, they just kept growing! Since they are tall, it's hard to pick out some of the weeds I am trying to suppress as well.I wanted a grass-lawn alternative, not the miniature forest I have now. If I were just planting a large patch with a lower profile green ground cover, where I didn't think I was going to walk much, this would be an attractive option - it's probably what I will do with the remaining seeds.

Product meets discription and my expectations.

My husband wants to never mow the yard again, so he looked into tiny clover options. We WANTED the smallest clover possible. We bought this Micro Clover, as well as "Mini Clover" from another company. He made test plots in a sunny area, and test plots in a shady area. In the shade, the other clover (mini, not micro) performed better (came in thicker, but still shorter height and smaller leaves). In the sun, the mini (not micro) was also the smallest (leaves and height) but filled in more quickly and now has fewer weeds. This stuff, the Micro clover, appears to be as large as normal clover. Nothing special. If you're looking for smaller clover, we recommend trying Mini Clover instead.

It worked ok.... Some of the area I put the seed on grew. Needs more water than I was hoping for.
