AirTamer A302 | Small Personal and Portable Air Purifier | Lithium Battery Operated | New Electrostatic Purification Technology, Proven Performance, Metal Travel Case

Here's my complete factual experience with this product. You can draw your own conclusions. I originally bought the Airtamer for use on airplanes, as most do. I have flown Delta and American, and there has never been an issue with wearing it. Before I bought it I used to get sick regularly after traveling. In the years since I bought it, this has never happened again. I am also a teacher and getting older and more prone to illness. Two years ago I got sick 5 times during the school year. Last school year I got sick 5 times before Christmas. So, I decided to try wearing the Airtamer at school as well as on airplanes, and began Jan. 1, 2014. It is now Dec. 3, 2014, and I have not had a cold since (knock wood!). I also noticed that, since I started wearing it daily, my usual allergies have been diminished. I find that if I have an allergy attack and turn on the Airtamer, the attack usually goes away with 10 minutes, often less. So, there you have it. Perhaps I'm just engaging in a big false cause fallacy, but it seems to me that it has worked pretty darned well. **Update 2/7/16: It has been more than 2 years now since I started wearing this every day. I'm superstitious and don't want to jinx it, so I'll just say that the story I tell above, as it relates both to allergies and to lack of illness, is, so far, unchanged.

I use this for the obvious reasons in terms of viruses that float around. I also use it to help a little bit with cleaning product odors or heavy pollen. I still have to play with it a little bit to get the adjustment just right on the various types of blouses I wear. I like that you can adjust the cord according to what you are wearing and whether you have it attached to any of the material of the clothing you wear so far so good. The batteries seem to be holding out well and I already picked up some extra batteries for the time that these need replacing. I find I must be attentive to people around me in the event that anyone is wearing a heart monitor. Although it draws a little attention to yourself, it’s a good idea to ask if you’re going into a room with a few people in it if anyone has it, a pacemaker or other electrical device that is sensitive to other electrical devices most people can see it on me and are wondering what it is anyway so they notice before I do—It’s a good thing to have. One caution is that if you wear any kind of metal jewelry, you have to be sure that there’s a little bit of distance between the cord of this device and your jewelry, so that they don’t touch you’ll know right away if that happens because you’ll get teeny electric shocks That’s easy to fix when you move your stuff around a little bit. I tend to wear medals, so I have to watch this a little bit more than probably most people. It is not been a huge issue. I would rather be protected from germs, then to worry about moving my jewelry into a different spot or hanging it differently. I actually like that it uses batteries because I have to remember to put devices on chargers. Since we have been having power outages around here lately, I don’t have to worry about when I can get it charged, or if it will be charged up enough when the power goes out; there’s no issue.

This air purification device was purchased to provide assistance at a time when smoke from California forest fires was creating poor air quality for days, weeks and months at a time--but little did we realize just how effective this seemingly small device truly is. The difference this personal air purifier makes is dramatically noticeable, even when other air filters are in use, which I find astonishing and remarkable. The AirTamer literally knocks all particulates out of the air in the immediate area, leaving no chance of any germs, airborne allergens, or particle pollution getting through at all. The portability of the AirTamer makes it possible to take it everywhere we go. One AirTamer makes a huge difference for two people, if you happen to stick close together, so the air inside your car on long trips or when dining at a restaurant feels fresh and pristine. The remarkable thing to me on a very personal level is that after 40 years of struggling with seasonal allergies, not to mention the more recent addition of also struggling with breathing when tiny airborne particulates are floating around as well, one tiny device could so completely clear the air. I realize now that if my doctors had recommended this device to me when I was first diagnosed with allergies as a teenager in high school, I would have been able to breathe easily without ever having had to get allergy shots, take allergy prescription medication, or suffer through decades of allergy suffering. Of all the air filters and air purification systems I've ever seen, this is most dramatically the best one I've had personal experience with. The only slight downside is that when wearing this device, some people may be sensitive to feeling the tingly electric pulse through the cord or near the sparking area when it pulses regularly from time to time. If this is a problem, one can simply set the device nearby with cord stretched out behind. Because of the health benefits of such life-changing nature, I'd give this device ten stars if amazon allowed it; extremely highly recommended, especially for allergy sufferers or anyone wishing to keep air clear around them during 'flu season' or when surrounded by people who are sick.

I bought this for my son who is suffering really badly from allergies. As a young man who works physically, he felt this was way too big to put on his shirt and go outside and work. In his words, ok for someone that works in an office or an "old" person (lol) but it was not viable for him. So he put it right by his face at night hoping he would wake up less nose drippy and head stuffed up. It had a minor effect but on strong pollen days, it doesn't seem to have helped much. I have to be fair, the reason I gave it 3 stars overall, was because he did not wear it all day long and it was in his face at night (within about 18inches of his face). So, if he had worn it perhaps it would have been more helpful. He is still hopeful and turns it on at night as there seems to be a little difference with rather than without. The four stars for easy to use is because he is too vain or feels it would fall off and get lost in the woods or somewhere during work and so elected not to use it during the day. He takes an Allegra in the morning and I was hoping he could go without medication. I have not returned it because I keep hoping it will become more helpful as time goes by or he decides to wear it when pollen counts are high and we can really tell if it is useful. In summary, a true review should be once worn according to directions. And the directions should emphasize "best results when worn rather than placed beside you. I will try to give an update if things change.

I have severe asthma and allergies, so bad I have been house bound for days, weeks even months. My husband suggested I try one of these, at this point what did I have to lose. I have had this for a month now and I am beyond happy with it. I wear it constantly and have it on my nightstand when I sleep. I no longer cough, loss my voice, have no engery, or have to visit my doctor every month. I have not felt this good for years, I even had my husband build me a deck off the house, so I can finally sit outside and enjoy the beauty of the mountains. I have just ordered a second one, just in case. I do have to say that the batteries only last a week or so, I buy them 50 at a time. For me it's a small price to pay, for my quality of life back.

Mine stopped working after just 4 months - the blue light indicating the unit was on would not come on - fortunately Amazon arranged a return of the item but whether I will still get a full refund or not once the return is received remains to be seen. Like the other reviews I did not feel this was a great product either - you can not hear a slight sound of air or smell a slight scent of ozone which would indicate it was working and I really did not notice any difference in how I felt - whereas with the expensive classic Wein personal air purifier you can hear a slight sound of air and a slight scent of ozone so you know it's working - there are many reviews like this on Amazon so if enough of us are saying the same thing there must be some truth to it.

I recently purchased this for a trip to Europe consisting of three flights in each direction, all of which were completely full. I read the reviews and decided to give this device a try since on some of my previous trips, I ended up with a cold. On this trip, I went and returned without having any health issues. I have no idea if this device is really the reason, but I will continue to use it since it is quiet, relatively unobtrusive, and reasonably priced. And if it really is the reason for being able to maintain good health in the midst of the overcrowded environment of air travel, it is a terrific bargain. One perhaps helpful observation - according to the literature enclosed with the unit, the neck cord functions as some type of conductor that facilitates the effectiveness of the unit, but must be in contact with your skin rather than just stuffed into your shirt pocket. The unit itself is smaller than I had anticipated, and the attached clip allows it to be attached to your shirt pocket. I am happy with the purchase.

I had a personal air purifier many years ago and I am disappointed that I have not been able to find a replacement of the same quality. This unit seems to work but I can't tell. I don't know why but the fan is not very powerful. It may be a good unit but if I can't tell it's hard to advise someone else to buy one.

Great reviews caught my interest. I bought 3 of them and all work great. They really help purify the air! I have a serious lung disorder and these are very helpful.

EDITED (1) The emissions of this cheaper AirTamer are 2 million Negative Ions per cm3, whereas their A320 produces 2.1 million and A310 rechargeable produces 2 million - the same as mine which costs less. The AirTamer A315 produces 2.2 million, but being rechargeable giving 40 to 50 hours per charge! But it costs a lot more. EDIT (2) Furthermore, DO NOT CUT the AirTamer A302's cord because the cord is an effective part of the device's ion span. Some have, just to clip it to their shirt ;pocket, but a cut cord reduces the ion's emissions severely. My husband stupidly did it, so he is buying a new one for Christmas 2021. Thank you for reading this important edit. Now mine is an old fashioned design, but it works very well and only costs £59. If you check out the AirTamer site, 'Compare Models', you will realise that this version is far cheaper and just as good. But it is up to you. I use 2 x Panasonic CR2025 Lithium coin cells which powers this version continuously for one whole week which at 24/7 = 168 hours continuous use! Panasonic's CR2025 are very cheap, and last a very long time. Since buying last November 2020 this air purification device has worked well every day. IMO, at £59 this version is far the least expensive, yet just as powerful. This is why I recommend it so highly because my hay fever and other nasal allergies are now non-existent.. I am not a paid 'shill'; I bought it myself. So this is my update for19th November 2021. Immediately I was aware their in the room felt vibrant; like how the air felt when sitting by a waterfall, or, after a thunderstorm had finished. The air felt fresh, quite amazing. My friend pointed to a device on the mantelpiece, calling it a negative ionizer. Years later I encounter AirTamer's 302 Personal Ionizer and bought this battery version - and wow! All my stuffed-up nose feelings vanished! No more sneezing, runny nose - nothing! And my husband's asthma improved when he was sitting within my 3ft 'bubble', or negative ionized air! It's made an incredible difference! I chose this lithium coin-cell battery version first. For £59 it's absolutely first class - actually is cheaper bought from Amazon here than other UK retailers. And if it proves to continue though it does look a bit dated - nevermind about that because it works! Then next year if all goes well, I shall buy its up-rated rechargeable version. £59 is money well spent, though if it hadn't been for that experience in my friend's home I might have not believed in it. Well, I honestly say it is brilliant! Within the first two minutes of turning it on and placing the ionizer around my neck on its (adjustable) lanyard, I immediately felt a marked, fresh difference in air quality! Note: The cord of this AirTamer is electrostatic, so DO NOT cut it - the cord itself is also how this personal air purifier actually works. I definitely recommend!
