Q: How much water does this grass need in So Cal?

It depends on what you're using it for. If you are making a putting green, you'll need to water it often...if it's just for a lawn, after the grass is established (usually 6-8 weeks after planting), the grass will usually tell you when it needs water, but here is AZ, I would water it 3-4 times a week. Your soil, drainage, air flow, are all factors in how much water you will need.

Q: How much seed for 450 square feet?

It is hard to give a specific answer. Many factors come in to play, drainage, soil composition, sunlight, germination. I bought 20 lbs for 1000sq ft. Used over half and kept the remainder to over-seed once it germinates.

No, this grass is much more delicate.
