The ketogenic diet is all about nourishing and healing your body with nutrient-dense whole foods, as international bestselling author Maria Emmerich has demonstrated in her previous books, including The Ketogenic Cookbook (with Jimmy Moore) and The 30-Day Ketogenic Cleanse. But food is more than just nourishment; food is tradition, food is love, and most importantly, food is a celebration. The mere thought of eating a particular meal or the smell of a favorite childhood dish can evoke positive memories, whether itโs a simple Sunday dinner with family or a major life event. When you begin following the ketogenic diet, whether your goal is to promote weight loss, improve blood markers, or just enhance overall health and well-being, itโs easy to forget to enjoy food. Some people fall into a drab routine of consuming the same dishes over and over, which can lead to boredom and frustrationโand ultimately to the desire to fall back into old, poor eating habits. With Keto Comfort Foods, Maria Emmerich reassures everyone on the keto diet that it isnโt difficult at all to recreate those favorite foods and meals in healthy waysโyou just need to use a little creativity. By using clever low- or no-calorie substitutions for sugar and scrubbing all recipes clean of gluten-containing additives, Maria has created an incredible resource for comforting home-cooked meals that are safe enough for everyone in the family and delicious enough for the most discerning eaters. These recipes are sure to become new family favorites! In Keto Comfort Foods, Maria Emmerich has compiled her most soul-warming, happiness-invoking recipes. The bookโs more than 170 tantalizing, hearty comfort food recipes include everything from cinnamon rolls to steak fries, and from chicken cordon bleu to tiramisu cheesecake. Maria has covered all the bases, giving you the recipes and tips you need to make delicious and healthy versions of your favorite dishes. Review: Comfort foods at it's best - I've bought 3 of Maria Emmerich's books and used 2 so far. The two I've used is this one and Quick and Easy Ketogenic Cooking. In my review of Quick and Easy I stated that was the first book I bought but I was wrong, this one was. And because this one was so incredibly delicious I bought quick and easy. Anyhow...โฆ...if you're missing comfort food (as I was) this will fill the bill. (as the saying goes). Some of the recipes we've tried is: "Keto Debbie" chocolate cupcakes (pg 314). Remember Little Debbies?! Well, there's a new girl in her town....Keto Debbie, and these babies are sooooo freaking good!!! I found them a little time consuming to make and I surely didn't get my swirl to work but all the components are there and that's what matters. My son even wants me to make them for his 18th birthday :-D (I'd say that's a WIN!) Death by Chocolate Cheesecake (pg310), if you like cheesecake and you like chocolate then you're sure to love this chocolate cheesecake. Creamy, chocolatey, **oh my** Chili Cheese Dog Casserole (pg 284) I'm not a chili dog fan, I like chili and hot dogs just not together. But *this* recipe changed for me. I have made this several times, and my guys have ASKED me to make this one. So simple, so good, please try this one! (even if you don't like chili dogs) Pizza Supreme (pg 228) Another pizza we prefer over our old style carb one. The other pizza we love is the Pizza Sticks (pg 304) from Quick and Easy Ketogenic Cooking (same author). It just depends if we want sticks or whole pizza as to which we make, they are both delish. Country-Fried Steak and Gravy (pg 224) You have to understand we are Texans who love our country fried steak. THIS made us do the happy dance! So flavorful and mouth watering we surely don't miss this anymore. Now if only I could get the guys to eat mashed fauxtatoes (pg 129) - which I adore. Really no reason to miss mashed potatoes in my opinion - this is where the guys disagree with me LOL Now, if you like Chicken Pot Pie, you have *GOT* to try the recipe on pg 196. Hubs and I love pot pie, always have, our son though never did UNTIL this one. I don't have ramekins so I just used an 8x8 pan, divided dough in half(ish) so I would have some for the bottom and some for the top. When I made this said son asked "what's for dinner" I told him a new pot pie recipe, well he curled his lip and grunted...โฆโฆ...dinner time came, he tasted, he was converted!!!!! I could make this once a week, no lie! I could go on and on about several more of her recipes we've tried. These cookbooks have been so enjoyable and made me fall in love with cooking again. Before I bought the books I was searching the internet and getting frustrated with this new lifestyle we were trying to make. I finally bought the books and viewed them as tools in our new journey - you know with anything you need good tools. Knowing my family is enjoying meals again and we're getting healthy together means more than anything to me. I hope my review has helped you make the decision to get a book or two or three... Thank you Maria Emmerich for your continued gift of cooking and sharing with the world and making our world healthy and delicious again <3 Review: The One "Must Have" Cookbook - "Keto Comfort Foods" is the third cookbook I've purchased of Maria's. Here is why they are my first go to cookbooks and I love them. The format is clean and crisp. Each recipe has a photo and the nutritional content for those of us following the ketogenic WOE. It works for Wheat Belly, LCHF, ketogenic, Paleo and anyone else following a clean eating style of living. The recipes are excellent. I love her basic condiment recipes as well. I no longer go to the store to buy packaged sauces, dips, mayo, etc. Now here is the best kept secret of all of Maria's cookbooks (especially for all you visual people out there)...at the end of the book, she has this wonderful section that has a photo of every recipe presented by category. IE: Main Dishes, Breakfast, etc. As I'm trying to decide what meal to make, I can browse through the section and find the photo that appeals to me, see the page number and name of the recipe for quick reference. Then off to the kitchen! Supper tonight is Steak Frites with Bearnaise Sauce and tomorrow for a nice Saturday BBQ, we're having the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Wilted Bacon Slaw!!

THE BEST COOKBOOK EVER!! NO, SERIOUSLY!!! BUY THIS!!!
You know how you go to a restaurant and they give you a menu with all those "yummy" (but BAD for you) foods? Let me tell you, this cookbook is our MENU!!! We use it every single day for the BEST tasting KETO food we have EVER had with SIMPLE ingredients! This is our kitchen bible for real lol. I don't know how we ever survived keto without it!! Well... we didn't lol lasted about 2 months dropped 50lbs from googling recipes every day with those high ratings saying they're the best... um, SOME were all right but MOST were disgusting!!! So we fell off the wagon for a year while I packed back on 30 of the 50 pounds I lost and couldn't fit into my clothes, had to buy clothes that weren't cute, legs and knees were killing me while I would climb my stairs or stand for a while. So I had to put my foot down and say this junk food lifestyle needs to come to a halt right now! I went back on keto and was determined not to eat bad tasting food again so I searched and search stumbled across Maria Emmerich Comfort food and AND her Restaurant favorites cookbook. I grabbed them both and it was the BEST purchase EVER! In my opinion! EVERY single recipe we make from either book is delicious! No lie! We always make enough to take some leftovers for lunch at work and there's a few people on Keto there who just HAVE to taste everything I bring it and of course I have to go home and get the recipe for them even tho I tell them... "Do yourself a favor and buy your own! You won't regret it!!!" still the cheapskates have me give them the recipes for the foods I bring in lol. I plan on buying ALL of her books, how could I go wrong doing that? Well, I can't this lady knows the golden secret to GREAT tasting Keto foods!!! I tell people everywhere lol even people NOT on Keto lol. I can not rave about this woman's books enough! Ya'll does yourself a favor and BUY IT!!! I promise you, YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!! I also just purchased her Complete Guide to Success on Keto diet book. I haven't read it yet because I just got it but best believe my nose will be glues into it very soon! She knows what she's doing!

Beautiful Pictures! Have made a few of the recipes and planning on making many more!
This is the 5th keto cookbook that I've ordered of Maria's. (Updated) Things I love about the book: *has a brief intro at the beginning with some information about ingredients. *an intro about how to read the recipes (i.e - whether it is nut, dairy or egg free or whether there is an option to make it that way) *a couple of the recipes have the nutritional information for various ways of making it (ie. without the sauce) *every recipe has nutritional information plus a meter that tells if the recipe is Low Med or High ketogenic *beautiful pictures *a list of the recipes with pictures at the back of the book As I mentioned, this is the 5th book that I've purchased from this author and I've found no repeat recipes in this book (except the bone broth and keto buns) from any of the other books. In fact, I just made a Blue Cheese salad dressing which was delicious (from the Quick and Easy book) and there is a different Blue Cheese Dressing recipe in this book as well. I've already tabbed a bunch of the pages to make recipes in the near future. Some of the recipes that I've tabbed and some prepared are: *Beef stew (delicious and freezable) *Scalloped Fauxtatoes (delicious) *Chicken and gravy cobbler (wow -it's good and the biscuits are delicious) *BBQ chicken lasagna (delicious) *BBQ Pulled pork sandwiches with bacon slaw (Very good- needed a bit more to the sauce for my palate so I added low sugar bbq sauce) *Chicken Pot pies ( even better the second day. I plan on making a bunch and freezing them) *Schnitzel (Very good alternative to the breaded version) *Maple Bacon Ice cream *Death by Chocolate Cheesecake * Keto Debbie cupcakes (my husband couldn't believe that they were keto -delicious) - I also made this as a cake instead- even easier - see pics) * Poulet Grand-mere (not only does it look delicious on the plate but the flavour is fabulous) * Blt stuffed mushrooms ( definite hit- I just made them two days ago and I already bought more mushrooms to make them again) *Clam chowder (I'm eating this right now. Very delicious) *Sunday pot roast *Grandma Suzie's Kringle (Very good- my daughter who rolls her eyes every time I make a keto dessert said this is the best keto dessert that I've made) *Mashed Fauxtatoes - delicious *** Pictured below (Scalloped fauxtatoes, Schnitzel, chicken pot pie, my tabbed book, Blt stuffed mushrooms, clam chowder, Chicken and gravy cobbler, Poulet Grand-mere and Keto Debbie cupcakes, Asparagus and Eggs benedict, Grandma Suzie's Kringle, Chicken Cordon Blue, Keto Debbie Cupcakes as a cake, Bone broth, and Mashed Fauxtatoes ). Maria definitely does not disappoint with her recipes. I plan to buy her next book as well.

Check the carbs on cronometer
This book has some great remakes on traditional recipes. They seem to be a little involved based on just reading them. I decided to make the chocolate canoli cookies first. I was a little suspicious at the 3 carbs per cookie given in the macros so I entered the whole recipe into cronometer and divided the whole batch by the 2 doz she said the recipe makes. Guess what? They are 10.9 carbs each not three.

BEST COOKBOOK IVE EVER OWNED!
Alright, I had been debating buying this cookbook for a long time because I generally dont like them. Most cookbooks i own are very aesthetically pleasing but SO many ingredients and sometimes it just doesnt translate to the plate. So when someone recommended maria emmerichs collection of books, lets just say i wasnt gung ho. I finally bit the bullet and purchased her educational book "Keto.". I loved how informational it was and I really got a sense of what Maria was putting on paper. After i studied that book, I decided it was time to get one with actual recipes. When I ordered this comfort food book, i had no idea what to expect. I didnt look at any reviews, I purposely shut myself off from any expectations. When it arrived, I was floored. All of the recipes not only looked delicious but SOUNDED SO EASY and didnt have alot of wild ingredients! If you are keto, theres lots of staples you can have and really Marias book keeps it simple and to the point. Now it was time to test it out. I made the protein lasagna and the chicken club hand pies. I was absolutely shook eating the dishes. The flavor was immense, it was easy, it didnt take a whole lotta time, and she has macros on the recipes! I was sold. I AM STILL SOLD. I plan on getting the rest of the books and calling it a day. -- desiree (kevins wife, and only one ordering things on amazon lets be real)

Keto at another level
โค๏ธlove, โค๏ธlove, โค๏ธ Mariaโs books. All her books are amazing. I do encourage you to buy this one after getting familiar with other books which have more simple recipes. The format of Maria's books are consistent and easy to follow. I highly recommend them. I have several of them in electronic and paper format. Maria & Craig start by explaining the benefits of a ketogenic life style. Her recipes are displayed in one page with stunning pictures. You have a shopping list which are extremely helpful. They thoroughly explained the best ingredients to buy and the reasoning behind them. The tables of content at the end of the book are incredible. You may seek a recipe by macros, by food type, by difficulty level, by ingredients, by pictures. The recipes are delightful. Prepare them just as described while you get familiar with keto, if later on you may want to experiment with variations is doable. Maria & Craig are approachable. They are always there for you to answer questions through any social channel. Iโve been keto for +2 years, I am as healthy as iโve ever been, enjoying life and good food thanks to her AWESOME books. A+++++++++++

Amazing Keto cookbook, even for non-ketoers!
Everything about this cookbook is amazing! None of the ingredients are complicated or difficult to find. Everything has been delicious so far! The book starts off with a short introduction to the ketogenic diet and on how to use the book. One of my favorite things is that all the recipes have a little icon that shows you a keto "scale" with low, medium, high. For example, those that are low keto should be used more sparingly. There is also a macronutrient break down at the bottom of the page. My faves so far are the cream cheese pumpkin muffins, krinkle, garlicky cheddar biscuits and gravy, and the tiramisu muffins. I guess I love my breakfast foods, even for dessert! HA! This book is so great that I started out with just the digital copy and now I own the hard copy. It really is a gorgeous book!

Love everyone of her books
Awesome recipe book to add to collection--great comfort food recipes without the added sugars and grains that are harmful for so many. Recipes are well laid out, easy to follow, photos are mouthwatering. If you have others in her series, you need to add this one--comfort food is where its at, and healthy comfort food is even better!

Mouthwatering Recipes!
I now have most of Maria's books and they have absolutely changed my understanding and approach to the food we eat. She and her husband Craig do the most amazing job in bringing us the latest information on the way eating low carb can benefit each and every one of us. They share their research and help in the most simplistic and clear manner .... and the food is AMAZING. My husband does not follow my low carb way of eating, but this does not complicate our meals in any way....and he is always totally amazed at the food we eat, it really can be eaten by the whole family. As I now have most of her books I don't ever feel the need to look elsewhere when meal planning. A huge thank you to Maria and Craig for everything you have done and continue to do!

Buenas ideas, demasiada carne
Tengo varios libros de esta autora, que me Dan ideas cuando quiero descansar de los carbohidratos un poco, o reducirlos. Pero como siempre, considero el uso de la carne excesivo.
