A good sequel.
This story picks up quickly where the original left off, and continues the story of the main characters who survived the the first adventure. The action scenes are well described and move fluidly from page to page. It certainly leaves itself open for a third book, which would make sense with trilogies being a central aspect of story arcs inside the Star Wars Universe. The book allows for a new reader to jump right into the story without much confusion for not having read the first novel. In fact, it sets up the story and characters (with the exception of Starkiller, the main character) better than the first book. The concept of who the individuals are, and what goals they are trying to achieve are well designed within the story rather than finding some critical info needed chapters later.Parts do seem a bit tedious when the female protagonist (Juno Eclipse) seems to ponder the questions of how someone who had died in the first book could be alive now. However, the story does not dwell to long before jumping into an action scene on the level of the final acts from any of the films. It would have also been nice to see certain characters with a bit more of story development, but as the main focus is on the four main players (Starkiller, Juno Eclipse, Rham Kota, and Darth Vader) it is hard to fit it in with the events enfolding around everyone. As this is based on a video game, many scenes can be envisioned as right out of possible game play.Overall, it was an enjoyable read. The story is basically one huge action scene moving quickly from one location to the next. If you like the expanded universe books, it will not disappoint.

Cachiest theme ever
The story starts with the Sith apprentice Galen Marek aka starkiller awakens on kamino where vader gives starkiller a test to kill jedi Rahm kota on Malastare, I think it's malastare. After vader kills a proxy droid taking the form of juno eclipse starkiller snaps and escapes to malastare. After saving kota and killing the beast known as the gorog from baron tarkos arena starkiller asks kota on the info where juno eclipse is. Kota says he doesn't know then scolds him on him trying to find juno and not fight the empire. Starkiller gets the idea on going to the planet dagobah. Starkiller goes to the cave on dagobah called the cave of evil and finds out juno is on the ship the salvation. The ship is then is almost immediately attacked by boba fett. Boba fett takes juno to kamino where vader awaits. Starkiller fights vader but is convinced not to kill him by kota. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because of the ending it ends with the rebels taking vader to a rebel base to interrogate him with Boba fett hot on their trail and it just, ends,Sean Williams everybody. Anyways that's it I guess, so bye. Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun

Book 2 Syndrome
I love Sean Williams' work. He is an exciting author that understands how to position and develop Star Wars characters. I did not realize until book 2 that Starkiller is in fact Anakin Skywalker in reverse. The irony is not lost on me and helps readers understand his fatal connection with Darth Vader. Whereas Anakin became a Jedi and ruined the entire order to pursue power and the freedom to live openly with Padme, Starkiller abandons the Sith order for the Rebel Alliance to become a Jedi to protect Captain Juno Eclipse. The paths they take are not terribly dissimilar and this is further "proof" in the Star Wars world of how close the Jedi and the Sith really are. Scratch a Jedi find a Sith. The Force Unleashed, if I had to identify what I dislike about it, seems like a retread of the first novel in the beginning and the storyline is advanced so quickly that it feels like a middle book suffering from trilogy syndrome. Read it, enjoy it,and then beg for Williams' third and final Unleashed book next October.

Starkiller Unleashed
I really enjoyed the first book. It was thrilling and difficult to put down. This book was not quite the same. Parts of it were similar to the first book, the first part wondering when Mini and Starkiller kept missing each other. It was interesting to see the rebel command leadership at odds. I also liked seeing a Jedi General in Kota. The ending was unexpected, I have to think on this. The last thing I expected was a somewhat happy ending. That was good, Vader, I'm still ruminating over. It's similar to Fatal Alliance, which took a while to grow in me. I read this book using immersion reading while listening to the audio book. Jonathan Davis was excellent in his narration as usual.

It adds perspectives and scenes that bring new depth to the story and provide better explanations for different characters' choices
Though by a different author, The Force Unleashed II book shares the advantages of the first Force Unleashed book. It adds perspectives and scenes that bring new depth to the story and provide better explanations for different characters' choices. Like the first book, however, the story doesn't paint any vivid imagery for those who didn't play the games. It is still a decent book for fans of Star Wars and the Force Unleashed games, but might be lackluster if you expect something closer to Jude Watson's Jedi Apprentice series or anything from the post-trilogy canon.

The rebels are born.
This book is a great addition to the star wars novels. I love to listen to this exciting tale of how the rebels came to be to battle the empire for control of the galaxy. It is a wonderful story about a syth who finds out who he really is and to quote a phrase from the star wars movies. "He found the good in himself." For the action fans, This book is great because you not only get narration, but you also get music and sound effects from the films when action occurs in the book. I recommend any other star wars book on audio.

The memories of a dead man
The main strength of the original Force Unleashed computer/video game was that it possessed an excellent storyline which also managed to successfully fit into the events of the films and the expanded Star Wars universe. The game of ‘The Force Unleashed II’, however, was really little more than a button basher with no real story to speak of. With very little plot and characterisation it must be difficult to novelise. Surprisingly the author manages to do a better job than expected with the material.Ostensibly this is achieved by splitting the action between both Starkiller and Juno Eclipse. The game only follows Starkiller (as it is he who the player controls) as he rescues Kota, searches for Juno and faces Vader. And that is basically the gist of the story. Of course, as Starkiller is doing his thing many others are organising the rebellion and paving the way for ‘A New Hope’. Bail Organa, Ackbar (not yet Admiral obviously), Mon Mothma and Leia all have more extensive roles than their fleeting appearances in the game. In fact, the concerns of the rebel alliance are a much bigger part of the book than they are the game. However, it is Juno’s own story that takes up a big chunk of the book; virtually half of it. Her story becomes a lot more interesting than the continuous chain of violence that makes up Starkiller’s. The character of Juno is really fleshed out in the book and there are some nice interactions with Leia. Of course, this does involve events being related somewhat out of order as a lot of the events surrounding Juno take place before Starkiller escapes Kamino. The method isn’t entirely satisfactory but it does work. The game also featured two possible endings which can’t readily be replicated within the novel (unless it transmogrified into some type of adventure gamebook). Even though with the Disney take over rendering ‘The Force Unleashed 2’ no longer cannon, the novelisation inevitably still opts for the ‘light side’ ending as this fits in more with the Star Wars expanded universe.

Unleashing the force again
Having been somewhat disappointed with Williams' Fatal Alliance, I was hoping for a return to form with this book. The first Force Unleashed was a pretty good read, even though I'm personally not a fan of the computer game tie-in books. The plot was well thought out and Williams does a great job of building the anticipation throughout. There is much intrigue surrounding his "rebirth" and there is also a lot of fairly fast-paced action. There were one or two gripes I had like the inclusion of a certain old face that I felt was unnecessary and a few areas that I felt maybe didn't quite fit into the timeline very neatly. As I neared the end of the book, I began to feel that it could - and possibly should - have finished earlier. There were several occasions when I thought the story was about to end but it kept going.I was also slightly unsure about the ending. How the book finishes suggests they are going to write a third and final one to complete the series. If they don't, this will leave a rather blatant plot hole in the series that will leave a bad taste in many fans mouths.Overall it was a fairly good read. By no means the best one I've ever read but enjoyable nonetheless.

Not just for Star Wars fans
What a pleasant surprise it was to read this book, I have played both games in series, saw this and thought I would give it a try, the pace of the book is just right, the characters are well described giving each one a lot of depth, fight sequences are also well written, I don’t want to spoil anything, o enjoyed it very much!

Great listen
Well what can I say, It's Star Wars, this is the second installment of the continuing story, this second chapter focuses on the love story between Galen and Juno and Galen's struggle to trace her and be at her side. While still being controlled by Vader in the plan to destroy the rebel alliance. This fast paced and a great job by Sean Williams and Random House Audio, loved this and have listened to it countless times, I know it is based on the game of the same name, but this Audio book really brings it to life and a must for any Star Wars fan. A great listen.

the force unleashed 2 book review
after reading the first novel which was a highly exciting book I had high expectations for this next novel. being a star wars fan I was curious to read this new story set between revenge of the sith and a new hope. sadly I was quite disapointed with this second book simply because It did not have the star wars vibe even more so than the first infact. also the story line in the force unleashed 2 was not very full and there did not seem enough in it to make a second book. its almost as though the auther made this book just for the sake of it as there is not much effort in the storyline. in this book you dont feel as connected to the charactors as you do in the first and the relationship between the charactors are not strong. despite all of this I think that star wars the force unleashed to is a fast paced novel that you will enjoy reading.
