LOCK & LOCK Easy Essentials Food lids (flip-top) / Pantry Storage/Airtight containers, BPA Free, top-16.5 Cup-for Cereal, Clear

I got these Lock & Lock Storage Bins Food Storage Container with Flip-Top Lids because I was looking for an easier way to store all the flours that I use for baking — and not just the usual all-purpose flour & cornmeal, but also the various low(er)-carb flours for baking, like almond flour, coconut flour as well as the different item-specific low-carb flours from LC Foods (holdthecarbs.com) like White Bread Flour , and Cake Flour , and Pasta Flour and others. I bought these bins, because before getting them, trying to measure out flour was a huge hassle, and often ended up very messy & wasteful. Because the opening/mouth of the containers that had been used to keep flour were too narrow to accommodate both a measuring cup AND my hand, I was unable to properly fill (and level off) the measuring cup with flour inside the jar/canister. Which meant I had to fill the measuring cup with flour manually, using a spoon, and given the usual powdery nature of flour, at least some of it would end up getting on the kitchen counter, & elsewhere and wasted. Not to mention that measuring the flour outside of its original container, meant having to use a separate bowl or plate to level off the excess flour — and ANOTHER dish to have to wash. So I was looking for better bins/canisters to store flours and these Lock & Lock Food Storage Storage Bins with Flip-Top Lids are ABSOLUTELY perfect, and just EXACTLY what I was looking for — though I DO wish that they were available in a slightly bigger size, but with this same design (because AFAIK the only bigger size they have is a different design, with wheels which wouldn't work for me, since I keep these bins on a stainless steel/chrome shelving unit, similar to this Whitmor Supreme 5-Tier Chrome Shelves rack) But other than that, I totally LOVE it! In fact, over the course of a few months (between October 2018 and February 2019) I've actually bought 10 of these to store the different flours for both regular (organic all purpose flour, organic cornmeal, etc.) as well as the aforementioned low-carb/keto baking flours — and if I can clear off space on another shelf on the storage rack, I might even get some more for other flours (like maybe peanut flour, hazelnut flour and/or besan [chickpea flour] which is both low{er} carb, and common in Indian cuisine) as well as for sugars & non-sugar sweeteners Because these bins are PERFECT to store baking ingredients. Its spacious, and the mouth on the flip-top lid part is wide enough to be able to fit most sizes of measuring cups (it fit all my measuring cups, thought the 1 cup size was a slightly tighter fit, but in that case, its easy to just unsnap the top of the lid and fill it from the top of the bin instead of the front). It comes with a lid that has snap-locks that seems to be airtight, and because its clear, its easy to see the contents, though to be fair, if you're using more than one of these for similar-looking items (like different kinds of flour as I did) you should probably label the bins so you know what it is. All in all, these are GREAT food storage bins. There isn't really that much more to say about it though. Its use is pretty self-explanatory, they are containers to store various dry food goods like flours, sugars, lentils, legumes, pastas or whatever. The lids close tightly, and as stated it has a flip-top that you can easily open to access the contents of the bin. ☆★☆★☆ 5 STARS!!!!!!!!!!!

I really love this locking container! I use it for bird seed, and it lives full-time out on my porch. As you can see from the picture, it’s raining — but my bird seed is bone dry and living its best life. This thing doesn’t leak at all! I also love that you can open the lid two different ways. It’s like a little transformer — practical and airtight. The semi-clear sides are great too, because I can see exactly how much seed is left before the birds start giving me dirty looks for being late on refills. 😂 It holds a lot, seals perfectly, and honestly feels like one of those rare purchases that just gets it right. Totally a good buy — 10/10 would buy again

I love the Lock&Lock brand. I've been using them for quite a long time. My oldest pieces are at least 9 or 10 years old and are still going strong. I use them constantly. They keep everything I put into them fresh. They are quite durable and clean up very nicely in the dishwasher (top shelf). This Cereal Dispenser has the familiar 4 flaps, one on each quadrant of the lid, that engage the equally familiar tabs on each quadrant of the body of the piece. The maximum dimensions of the container with its lid on are 9 3/4 inches tall, 9 5/8 inches deep and 4 1/2 inches wide. It also has a closable spout on its top and that, I feel, is where L&L missed the boat. The spout has no silicon seal! It doesn't really seal the opening, it just kind of sits on top of it. I cannot understand the logic of giving us the usual airtight and watertight closure for the container's top and then completely compromising it with an ordinary press-fit lid on the spout. It's just silly and it's the reason why this is the first Lock&Lock product that I've rated at less than 5 stars. Still, I can report after using it for several boxes of cereal that I've had no staleness or insect issues. The spout stays up after you lift it and pouring Corn Flakes or Cheerios or Raisin Bran into a bowl couldn't be easier. The container's capacity fits regular size cereal boxes quite comfortably, but the large, Family-Size boxes don't quite make it all in.

I have the 50 cup version, and would estimate this will hold about 25 pounds of rice. Seems pretty air tight and leak proof from what I can tell. I have not ran into the issues that others have with issues sealing on the top. May be a Quality control thing, but I've been very happy so far. It's a bit big and bulky, so not the easiest to get into smaller sinks. Would not recommend for food storage where you would need to frequently clean it out personally, I think I would get annoyed trying to fit it into the sink to clean it. However, for stuff like rice, it works really well, would assume flour, sugar, and other bulk dry goods would work similarly well. The measuring cup that came with is a nice touch, and the area on the front that is indented is nice ergonomically for holding, but the plastic may be a bit slippery elsewhere to carry it around. Overall, this is the best solution I've found for storing massive quantities of rice, and would recommend.

Perfect and economical

Exactly what I was looking for! Bought several types of containers before finding this one for our dogs' treats, which we buy in bulk and want to stay fresh. It's easy to refill with the whole top click cover, which has a good seal, and easy to access several times a day with the little front flap. Large adult hand doesn't fully fit inside the front opening, but it's big enough to reach what's inside.
